Fintastic Pumpkin Glow @ Adventure Aquarium

During the fall festivities, guests can discover a mesmerizing collection of glowing gourds in every shape, size, and species shining above the surface or illuminating the depths among sharks, stingrays, and other unique aquatic life. NEW to this year’s festival is a nearly 10-foot underwater octopus shaped out of pumpkins and a snorkeling Scarecrow tasked with keeping watch over the Aquarium’s underwater pumpkin patch. In addition to the fall-themed sights, guests can check out the Aquarium’s seasonal sensory tables, which feature pumpkin slime and other hands-on sensory experiences—all included with admission. For an extra special experience, guests can pay $5 to paint and take home their own pumpkin masterpiece. The Aquarium’s gift shop will also be selling various pumpkin-themed souvenirs. Festival of the Moon

Camden County 4-H Haunted Walk

It’s Haunting time and Camden County 4-H volunteers and members are busy transforming Lakeland into the annual Haunted Walk. Two is better than one! The Haunted Walk will be held on two weekends this year on Oct. 10-11 and Oct. 17-18 from 7-10:30 pm. The walk takes place in and around the Camden County Office of Sustainability at 508 Lakeland Road, Blackwood. Suggested for children ages 8 and up, the Haunting serves as the largest 4-H fundraiser of the year and has been held for more than 25 years.

Mahwah Museum Hosts Mahwah Revolutionary Run, Walk, Talk

The Mahwah Museum will host a Revolutionary-themed weekend on October 11 and 12, 2025, in partnership with Bergen 250 and RevNJ 250 to mark America’s upcoming 250th anniversary. On Saturday at 4:30 PM, historian Dr. Robert A. Selig will present “The Garden of America and the Washington-Rochambeau National Historic Trail 1781” at the Mahwah Museum, exploring Franco-American encounters during the Revolution. On Sunday at 8:30 AM, the celebration continues with the Mahwah Revolutionary 5K Run and 1-Mile Fun Walk at Ramapo Valley County Reservation, featuring a Town Crier proclamation, historic scenery, and an awards ceremony. Registration is required for both events, with tickets and race sign-ups available online.
