Six Flags Great Adventure offers two Halloween events: Fright Fest for older audiences and Kids Boo Fest for families. Fintastic Pumpkin Glow @ Adventure Aquarium

During the fall festivities, guests can discover a mesmerizing collection of glowing gourds in every shape, size, and species shining above the surface or illuminating the depths among sharks, stingrays, and other unique aquatic life. NEW to this year’s festival is a nearly 10-foot underwater octopus shaped out of pumpkins and a snorkeling Scarecrow tasked with keeping watch over the Aquarium’s underwater pumpkin patch. In addition to the fall-themed sights, guests can check out the Aquarium’s seasonal sensory tables, which feature pumpkin slime and other hands-on sensory experiences—all included with admission. Asbury Park Zombie Walk

The New Jersey Zombie Walk is dedicated to all things horror and zombie. The undead outbreak was born in Asbury Park in 2008, and every year since the zombie horde has increased in size, rocketing the event further and further towards a total citywide takeover. Prior to 2014 when the Zombie Pub Crawl in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, with over 15,000 zombies was listed by the Guinness Book of World records for the “largest gathering of zombies”, the Asbury Park Zombie Walk with over 10,000 held that record.

New this year! Allaire Village offers a new, spooky walking tour that delves into the village’s ghostly history. Learn about tales of paranormal experiences and explore parts of the buildings not usually open to the public. The tour is challenging due to darkness and limited accessibility, and is recommended for ages 12 and up. Only 15 people are allowed per group, and there are 4 groups per 90-minute session.

Witches Paddle for a Cause

The witches and warlocks are coming back to Spring Lake! Registration is $35 per paddler, a portion to be paid to this year’s recipient – Friends of the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center which supports the facility designed to minimize the trauma child victims experience in a physically and psychologically safe environment.

Camden County 4-H Haunted Walk

It’s Haunting time and Camden County 4-H volunteers and members are busy transforming Lakeland into the annual Haunted Walk. Two is better than one! The Haunted Walk will be held on two weekends this year on Oct. 10-11 and Oct. 17-18 from 7-10:30 pm. The walk takes place in and around the Camden County Office of Sustainability at 508 Lakeland Road, Blackwood. Suggested for children ages 8 and up, the Haunting serves as the largest 4-H fundraiser of the year and has been held for more than 25 years.

Pink Witches was started in 2012 after Meg Olenowski lost her mom to cancer. Over the last 12 years the Pink Witches committee has raised over $150,000 for local women going through cancer treatments. “The Phantom of the Opera” with Live Organ Accompaniment

Are you looking for the ultimate Halloween experience? Come to Allentown, NJ for a screening of the 1925 silent film classic “The Phantom of the Opera” with live organ accompaniment. A century after its original release, the mastery of the Phantom – played by Lon Chaney – is still the gold standard for Halloween fare. For the complete classic film experience, the movie will be accompanied live on the church organ by Michael McCormick, principal organist at St. James R.C. Church in Pennington and an Upper Freehold, NJ resident. Attendees are encouraged to come in costume and join in a Halloween party in the church hall after the movie. The evening is part of TAVI’s “Allentown Arts” series, made possible in part by a grant from Monmouth Arts, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the Monmouth County Board of Commissioners.

Halloween on the Avenue

The event is Highland Park’s annual Jack-O-Lantern Contest & Halloween on the Ave, organized by Main Street Highland Park. Participants carve pumpkins and drop them off for display, and the public casts votes for their favorites. In addition to the contest, festivities include downtown trick-or-treating, free tote bags filled with treats and local business coupons, live music, a costume photo booth, and a screening of It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Annual Toms River Halloween Parade

Reported to be the 2nd largest Parade of its type in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records! It’s a parade with plenty of floats and decorative Halloween-themed attractions. Arrive early. It is recommended you arrive about 2 hours prior to the start of the parade. This allows time to get settled and comfortable so the parade can begin on time. In the past, people have put chairs out even earlier. The parade starts at 7:00 pm, from the Toms River Center located at Main Street and Route 37, proceeding South on Main Street, then east on Washington Street, and concludes at Hooper Avenue. Most trophies will be distributed at 101 Hooper Avenue, Ocean County Administration Building.
