Time to Renovate? The NJ Home and Garden Show Returns this Weekend

Remodeling, design, landscape professionals and a popular repurposing/DIY expert video blogger will inform and enlighten visitors to the 32nd Annual New Jersey Home & Garden Show, February 25-27 at the New Jersey Convention Center in Edison.

Visitors will see ideas and products from 100 remodelers, contractors, interior designers, landscapers, and kitchen & bath designers. The handcrafted work of artisans and craftsmen will be for sale in the Marketplace area.

Repurposing and do-it-yourself tips will be offered by Doreen Stovenour, whose video blog and YouTube videos are attracting a growing audience.  She said she comes from a family that was ‘no waste’ before it was fashionable, and she’s repurposed or redesigned mirrors, suitcases, Radiola and furniture from as far back as 1933. “Good bones can always be reused,” she said  “I never pass up anything promising that’s free. Most people’s trash is typically my treasure.”  She’s turned an old piano into a desk, a grill into a potting station, a headboard into a bench and old shutters into a raised garden.

Among the exhibitors is Designblendz Architecture. Its design team uses 3D and immersive technology so clients can see, virtually, inside their home addition or renovation project before the work begins. The tool also saves construction time and money by clarifying the project beforehand for contractors.

New Jersey-based Builder Exhibitors and Building Products include Window World of Jersey Coast, Edison;  RTI Builders LLC, Holmdel; Natural Stone Kitchen And Bath LLC, North Brunswick Township;  Green Power Energy, Annandale; Garden State Brickface & Siding, Rahway and First Choice Heating & A/C, Metuchen as well as from Staten Island, Richmond Tile.

Garden products and Landscaping: Paradise Grills, Montclair; Longford Landscapes & Excavation, Inc., Hamilton Township and Brothers Landscaping, Freehold.

Special activities for children include craft making, balloon animals, and old-fashioned games like bean bag and ring tosses, tic-tac-toe, and a mini fishing pond.
