Celebrated on the Saturday following US Thanksgiving, Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holiday occurring amidst the hustle of the holiday shopping season. This year, on November 30th, numerous towns in New Jersey, boasting many charming mom-and-pop shops, eagerly anticipate your presence for a day filled with exclusive discounts. Join in the spirit of supporting local businesses—let’s make this season a #ShopLocal celebration. All events are for November 30th unless noted otherwise.

Small Business Saturday/Winter Wonderland in Montclair Center
The Montclair Center Business Improvement District (BID) is kicking off the holiday season with the return of Winter Wonderland on Saturday, November 30, from 12–4 PM at Wellmont Art Plaza, 5 Seymour Street, Montclair. Held in partnership with The Wellmont Theater and Pharmacie Kitchen + Bar, this family-friendly event coincides with Shop Small Saturday, encouraging support for local businesses. Winter Wonderland will feature live entertainment from Jazz House Kids, Vanguard Theater, Brandy Massey, and holiday carolers, plus appearances by Santa, Buddy the Elf, The Grinch, and more. Guests can enjoy kids’ crafts, raffles, activity booths from local nonprofits and art institutes, and selfie stations to capture the holiday magic. The first 100 visitors will receive Shop Small tote bags, and all attendees will get a digital shopping map and gift guide with special discounts at over 70 Montclair businesses. Free 2-hour parking at all meters will be available, making it easy to shop, explore, and celebrate the season.

South Orange Downtown Small Business Saturday Street Fair Weekend
November 30 – December 1
South Orange Downtown’s Small Business Saturday Street Fair will take place on November 30 and December 1, 2024, from 10 AM to 4 PM at Village Plaza in South Orange, NJ. The event will feature local businesses, artisans, and vendors offering unique jewelry, apparel, art, and gifts. Stop by the South Orange Downtown tent on November 30 for a Downtown Dollars coupon, valid for $10 off a $50 purchase at participating businesses (while supplies last). For the first time, enjoy outdoor ice skating at Spiotta Park with 30-minute sessions for $10. Visitors can also meet Frosty the Snowman and join the Elf Chase Experience, hunting for hidden elves at local businesses to earn “Elf Tickets” for a prize drawing, with the winner announced at the South Orange Downtown Holiday Market on December 21, 2024.

Hackettstown’s Small Business Saturday
Hackettstown is celebrating Small Business Saturday on November 30 with festive activities and opportunities to support local businesses. From 2–4 PM, visitors can spin the Wheel of Chance at the Hackettstown BID Office (219 Main Street) to win prizes, including up to $50 in BID Bucks, redeemable at participating BID businesses. A $20 receipt from any Hackettstown BID business earns one spin. The day features sales, special events, holiday music on Main Street by DJ S.C.3, and the Kudos Barbershop Quartet performing from 12–2 PM. Santa will visit Hackettstown with Operation Toy Train, collecting unwrapped toy donations for Toys for Tots from 10–10:30 AM in the parking lot on Grand Avenue near Tannery Field. Toy donations can also be dropped off at Hackettstown Town Hall, the BID Office, Hoff’s Auto, or Greene’s Beans Cafe through November 29.

Washington Small Business Saturday Shopping Passport Event
Attendees should keep a watchful eye for the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will be making rounds to local businesses between 10 am and 3 pm, offering photo opportunities with shoppers. Pocket Park will come alive with music and various festivities throughout the day. Generous contributions from several local businesses, including gift certificates, goodies, services, and more, have been assembled into a substantial prize basket valued at over $500. Shoppers have the chance to win this impressive prize, and the businesses contributing to the basket are the featured participants in the Small Business Saturday Shopping Passport.

Central Jersey:

Keyport’s Miracle on Front Street: Small Business Saturday
“Miracle on Front St – Sip & Shop,” is an event in downtown Keyport where attendees can enjoy a festive shopping experience at participating businesses along Front Street. It’s a perfect opportunity to explore the unique offerings of local stores while enjoying the holiday atmosphere​.

Highland Park Small Business Weekend: Owl Markets, Tree Lighting, Santa, Caroling, and Live Music
Highland Park’s Small Business Weekend offers festive activities on Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, at the pavilion next to 212 Raritan Ave. On Saturday from 4–8 PM, enjoy an arts, crafts, and artisan gift market featuring food, live music, caroling, and a gingerbread house contest. The downtown tree lighting takes place at 6:30 PM, with a special visit from Santa arriving on the Highland Park fire truck. Spring Lake Small Business Saturday + Tree Lighting
On Saturday, November 30, 2024, Spring Lake will be celebrating Small Business Saturday alongside its annual Christmas Tree Lighting event. The day kicks off at 12:00 PM with special promotions and festivities for Small Business Saturday, encouraging local shopping throughout the town. Additionally, the Christmas Train Village will be open for visitors from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, offering a charming holiday train display at the Duggan Building on Washington Avenue​

Downtown Cranford Small Business Saturday
Cranford invites the community to celebrate Small Business Saturday by supporting local businesses and entering to win exciting prizes. Starting Monday, November 25, shoppers can collect receipts from their local purchases and bring them to Eastman Plaza on November 30. For every $10 spent, participants will earn one raffle ticket for a chance to win gift baskets and other prizes generously donated by Cranford business owners. Downtown Metuchen Small Business Saturday

Toms River Small Business Saturday
Show your love and support for local businesses by coming out on Saturday, Nov. 30th, for Small Business Saturday. Fuel up with some breakfast and then head out to tackle that holiday shopping list. There is free four-hour parking in the Irons Street lot, located behind the Wells Fargo Bank.

Fair Haven’s Small Business Saturday

Shop Small Holiday Tradition – Long Branch’s Pier Village
Pier Village is gearing up for a festive Small Business Saturday on November 30th, from 11 AM to 8 PM, with a day full of holiday-themed activities and shopping. Highlights include Breakfast with the Grinch at Doggie Sweets at 10:30 AM, a Meet and Greet with Santa at the Carousel Stage from 12–1 PM, and performances by a Juggling Elf and a Toy Soldier on Stilts. Enjoy Christmas caroling from 12–3 PM, a Holiday DJ Bash and Reindeer Games, bracelet-making at Little Words Project, pottery painting at Blue Skies Pottery, and a sing-along on the Pier Village Carousel. SIC Shop Small Weekend
November 29 – December 1
Sea Isle City, NJ, invites everyone to spend Thanksgiving weekend celebrating local businesses during the annual SIC Shop Small Weekend from November 29 to December 1, 2024. Shoppers can enjoy deals, discounts, and special treats as they browse participating stores to kick off the holiday season. Customers who spend $25 or more at participating businesses on Saturday will be entered to win an Apple iPad Pro, with the drawing taking place at 4 PM on the stage at Excursion Park during the Winter Village event. Visitors can also savor meals at local restaurants while enjoying the festive atmosphere and holiday cheer throughout town.

Brunch Big, Shop Small

Haddonfield invites shoppers to support small businesses during Small Business Weekend on Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1. Downtown merchants will open as early as 10 AM, making it easy to shop before or after enjoying breakfast or brunch at one of Haddonfield’s 10+ coffee and brunch spots. While waiting for a table, explore the historic district, home to dozens of independently owned businesses, including over 40 women-owned shops.

Uptown Pitman Small Business Weekend
November 30 & December 1
Uptown Pitman kicks off the holiday shopping season with a weekend full of small business celebrations and festive activities. On Saturday, November 30, enjoy the Pitman Bucks Sale at Borough Hall (10 AM–12 PM), a DJ in Ballard Park (12–2 PM), the Uptown Beer Garden on Theatre Avenue (12:30–4:30 PM), and an Uptown Elves Scavenger Hunt throughout town.
