Featured events include Oktoberfests, food, beer, and wine festivals, the NJ Lighthouse Weekend,  the Chatsworth Cranberry Festival, and much more. Let’s leave the house to explore what NJ has to offer (or not, you do you). These are my top 20 New Jersey Events for October 14 – October 16, 2022.

Storytelling at the Chapel; a special night out at the Blacksmith Shop; the Manager’s House with fortune-telling for your entertainment; Mr. Allaire’s Macabre House; the Carriage House with legendary spirits; the towering four-story shadows of the General Store stocked with seasonal goods; and don’t forget treats at the Bakery plus our very own Haunted Food Truck! Brookdale Haunted Theater
October 14 – 16, 7PM – 10:30PM

Brookdale’s annual Haunted Theater – designed, built and run by current and former students – is a delightfully scary, tormented trip through evil creatures, ghouls and ghosts, bloody body parts, and more. The popular Haunted Theater redefines “stage fright” for its many visitors during the walking tour of a maze of blood-chilling rooms.

Trails4Tails Fest 
October 15, 7AM – 4PM
The 5th Annual Trails4Tails Fest consists of several trails races, 50K Ultra, 15K, 5K with Dog, 5K & 1 Mile Fun, plus a full festival with food trucks, beer & wine garden, dog agility course, antique auto show, hatchet throwing, and vendors! Come meet the adoptable dogs from It’s A Ruff Life Rescue a nonprofit all-breed dog rescue and beneficiary of Trails4Tails Fest. Co-hosted by the Bucks County Triathlon Club and presented by WHP Events & Timing.

Sewell Food Truck & Music Festival
October 15, 11AM – 7PM

The Just Jersey Fest is rolling into Sewell! Food! Beer! Music! Fun! New Jersey foodies, eat your hearts out! It’s a fun-filled family day! 20 Gourmet Food Trucks, beer & sangria, partnered with some incredible bands, vendors, and kids activities. Bring your appetite, lawn chairs, pop-ups, and blankets. Boo & Brews

Come celebrate BOO & BREWS at Riverview Beach Park in Pennsville on October 15th from 11-6 (rain date October 16). This FANG-TASTIC festival is SCREAMIN’ with FUN!!, This event will be Featuring a beer garden with some of NJ’s BEST Craft Breweries serving beer by the glass, NJ food trucks to feed your MONSTER-like appetite, WICKED crafters and GHOSTLY tunes from Charlie Boucher. It’s sure to be a HAUNTINGLY amazing event! So gather your family and friends, bring a cozy blanket or lounge chair and make a day of it at BOO & BREWS, happening on October 15!!

New Jersey Oyster Festival
October 15, 12PM – 7PM

This event features local oyster purveyors featuring their oysters. Taste them all and vote for you favorite for the People’s Choice Award! If you’re more surf than turf, they will have local food trucks serving delicious choices for you. The activities and vendors include: Shucking Contest! Vendors! Brewing companies! Wine! Silent Auction! Special Speakers! Live music performed by the Shellback Buoys and The Rob Roy Duo

Boo Brew By the Bay
October 15, 1PM – 5PM
The tasting takes place on the picturesque waterfront; tickets are $35.00 and include seven 4oz. tastings, a pint of your favorite craft beer and a commemorative pilsner cup for the first 250 participants. Additional tastings can be purchased at the event for $3. There will be 15 local breweries in attendance, and each will have two types of beer to sample. Live music, fire pits and delicious cuisine from Local Smoke BBQ for additional fee.

Costume Pet Parade
October 15, 1PM

Paw Dazzle will host the Annual Costume Pet Parade starting at 1:00 pm. This is, by far, Historic Smithville’s cutest event. Spectators can watch 100+ pets show off their unique Halloween costumes! To enter your pet, you must be pre-registered by calling Paw Dazzle at 609-748-7110. Historic Smithville offers 60 Shoppes, 7 eateries, a carousel ride, train ride, paddle boats and arcade, on site lodging at the Colonial Inn, and over 26 free weekend events!

The New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge
October 15 & 16

The New Jersey Lighthouses and select museums happily announce that they are again hosting New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge weekend on October 15th & 16th, 2022.  Visitors can enjoy an opportunity to tour the state and visit each lighthouse over the weekend and help raise needed funds for the continued preservation of our treasured landmarks. The challenge is to visit 10 land-based lighthouses, 3 lifesaving stations, 1 museum, 1 virtual site, and the Lighthouse Society of NJ site over the two-day weekend.  The challenge route covers the Atlantic Coast from Sandy Hook to Cape May and the Delaware Bay and River Coast from Cape May to Paulsboro. A small registration fee enables you to collect a souvenir from each site.

This family event features a juried craft show with over 150 vendors, 15 food vendors, and live music.​

Atlantic City Fall Bazaar

Celebrate the fall season at the Atlantic City Bazaar at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University on Saturday & Sunday, October 15 & 16, 2022 from 12-5 pm! Enjoy shopping in a beautiful arts & crafts-focused event space in the heart of Atlantic City. This event is produced by Asbury Park Bazaar in partnership with the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University.

Hamilton Oktoberfest

A family Oktoberfest celebration with many family-oriented activities. Note: Alcoholic beverages will not be served at, nor permitted at, this event. This family event features, Amusements, Pumpkin Patch, Hay Rides, Corn Maze, Crafters, fire pits, a Jack ‘O Lantern Carving Contest, and the grand finale fireworks at dusk.

Springfield’s Fall Festival
October 16, 11AM – 5PM

Everyone is welcome to attend! Springfield’s Annual Fall Festival and Car Show October 16th 11am-5pm! Mountain Ave will be lined with food trucks, vendors, petting zoo, horse drawn carriage ride, live music – bands showcase, beer garden and an Inflatable Kid Zone ($5 unlimited jumping) for all ages to enjoy the day!! Cherry Hill Harvest Festival

Cherry Hill Township is partnering with the police and fire departments for the township’s largest community event. The event includes pony rides, a petting zoo, craft fair, pumpkins, live music, food trucks, a beer garden by Forgotten Boardwalk Brewery, and more.

Annual Pumpkin Patch Train
October 16

Join in the Halloween fun at the Whippany Railway Museum onboard “The Pumpkin Patch Train” ! The 10-mile, 45-minute round trip from Whippany to Roseland and return is the perfect way to spend a Fall afternoon with the family. Your ticket entitles you to pick your own pumpkin after the ride at our Pumpkin Patch and enjoy the seasonal fun. Ticket also includes a pumpkin decorating kit. Children of all ages are encouraged to come dressed in their Halloween costumes, where they can mingle with our zombies and ghosts, helping to make the train a spooky sight!
