Skylands Stadium Jack O’Lantern Experience

Great Adventure’s Fright Fest/Kids Boo Fest

This year Six Flags Great Adventure theme park will be celebrating 30 years of Fright Fest. The notorious event returns with 30 nights of a thrilling experience from eight heart-racing haunted houses, six terrifying scare zones and four ghoulishly entertaining shows. And there’s something for the whole family. Kids Boo Fest is open on the weekends starting Sept. 16 through Oct. 29. Six Flags theme park will be decorated in its fall finest with mums, pumpkins, cornstalks and hay bales. Attractions include trick-or-treating in Cornstalk National Park, the Hunt for Boo, fun-filled wagon rides, and a live show called Witch’s Brew.

Diggerfest Fall Festival

Hopewell’s Annual Amazing Pumpkin Carve

This event is an old-time festival with expanded activities – including live music, fire pits with storytelling, games, face painting…and of course, the outrageously carved giant pumpkins.

Haunted Wild West Fest

When the sun sets, fear goes up at Wild West City. Enter the town at your own risk… there is only one way into the town, first you must endure the perilous journey aboard the Wild West City Train Line and then walk the old Frontiersman Trail where the ghost of John West the Frontiersman lingers. The nightime Fest is considered to be PG-13. For younger children and a less spooky event, the daytime festival from 10:30am- 4:00pm, features the ghost town, Western entertainment and a costume contest.

Night of Frights

Enjoy the village grounds and historic buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries…visit with our ghosts, ghouls, and monsters. Storytelling at the Chapel; a special night out at the Blacksmith Shop; the Manager’s House with fortune-telling for your entertainment; Mr. Allaire’s Macabre House; the Carriage House with legendary spirits; the towering four-story shadows of the General Store stocked with seasonal goods; and don’t forget treats at the Bakery plus our very own Haunted Food Truck! Brookdale Haunted Theater

Trails4Tails Fest 
October 14, 8 am – 2:30 pm
The 6th Annual Trails4Tails Fest consists of several trails races, 50K Ultra, 15K, 5K with Dog, 5K & 1 Mile Fun, plus a full festival with food trucks, beer & wine garden, dog agility course, antique auto show, hatchet throwing, and vendors! Come meet the adoptable dogs from It’s A Ruff Life Rescue a nonprofit all-breed dog rescue and beneficiary of Trails4Tails Fest. Co-hosted by the Bucks County Triathlon Club and presented by WHP Events & Timing.

Witches Paddle for a Cause
October 14, 10 am

The witches and warlocks are coming back to Spring Lake to paddle on October 14th at 10 am (rain date Oct 15th @ 10 am). Registration is $35 per paddler, a portion to be paid to this year’s recipient – Friends of the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center which supports the facility designed to minimize the trauma child victims experience in a physically and psychologically safe environment.

Sharp Iron Farm 2023 Oktoberfest

Fall Taste of Highlands

The Highlands Business Partnership, Fall Taste of Highlands will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 12 Noon to 5:00 PM. The Fall Taste of Highlands will feature a Fall theme with 5 hours of delicious food samplings and cocktails from 21 restaurants and retailers. Fall Taste of Highlands is a rain or shine event. Tickets are $45.00 and include a map of the participating establishments and free parking. Ticket holders must check in at Huddy Park on Bay & Waterwitch Avenues and pick up their map/bracelet. You will be greeted at each establishment and present your map to be stamped. Visit ALL stops and be eligible to win a $200 BID BUCKS good at any participating establishment. Covenant House NJ’s Give Me Shelter Festival
October 15, 3 pm to 8 pm

The Pontiacs will kick things off followed by Brian Seymour, Black Dog, with the Moroccan Sheepherders closing things out. Between each set Covenant House NJ will provide information on the current state of youth homelessness, what is being done to help, and how you can get involved. Food is included and provided by the NJ Shore’s own Joe Leone’s. All money raised will support Covenant House NJ’s Rights of Passage Program which provides transitional housing and services to young people throughout the state. Please plan to join us!
