NJIB’s Top Ten Events for May 5th – 7th, 2017:

The Steampunk World’s Faire – May 5th – 7th
The Steampunk World’s Fair is the world’s largest Steampunk event! Join us to meet internationally-acclaimed Steampunk author Gail Carriger; see one of the world’s most beloved Steampunk Bands, Emperor Norton’s Stationary Marching Band; and for literally hundreds of hours of vendors, programming, shows, entertainment, and things to see, hear, do, and experience!

Kearny Food Truck & NJ Craft Beer Festival – May 6th
Even bigger than last year! More trucks – shorter lines; over 20 of the best food trucks in the tri-state area!
Outdoor Marketplace; browse the outdoor market that is featuring many local Etsy handmade makers.
Live music; Live music all day near the beer garden. Lifespeed is headlining!
Fun for the whole family; Montclair Art Museum mobile art truck and plastercraft are bringing hands on activities for the kids. There will also be rock walls bounce castles and more.
Beer garden; The Garden State Craft Brewers Guild will be on site representing over 10 NJ Craft Breweries! This will be the first North Jersey festival for the Guild!

Chester Food Truck Festival – May 6th
The Just Jersey Fest is rolling into Chester Borough. The event is taking place in a beautiful park like setting at the Municipal Field. Food! Beer! Music! Fun! New Jersey foodies, eat your hearts out! It’s a fun filled family day! Over 20 Gourmet Food Trucks, partnered with some incredible bands, make for an enchanting and fulfilling Spring day. Bring your appetite, lawn chairs and blankets. Dine on excellent food, while enjoying the beer and sangria garden along with the amazing sounds.
***PLEASE BRING A NON-PERISHABLE CANNED OR BOXED ITEM TO HELP SUPPORT THE FOOD PANTRY. Please help those less fortunate.

Asbury Park Punk Rock Flea Market – May 6th
The Asbury Park Punk Rock Flea Market takes over the iconic Convention Hall three times a year to bring you a distinctively curated selection of vinyl, music equipment, vintage clothing, macabre artwork, handmade jewelry and other original creations from over 125 vendors.

TRUCKerton Food Truck & Brew Fest – Pork Roll vs. Taylor Ham – May 6th
Tuckerton’s top food truck event is returning for the fourth consecutive year! This year’s fest will be held on Saturday, May 6th from 11am-6pm, with a rain date of Sunday, May 7th. As in years past, attendees can expect food and fun from over a dozen food trucks from all over the East Coast, as well as craft beers and live music.

Township of Union’s 1st Annual Lantern Run 5k and Food Truck Festival – May 6th
Come “light up the night” at the Township of Union’s 1st Annual Lantern Run 5k and Food Truck Festival on Saturday, May 6th, 2017. Proceeds from this event will be donated to Union High School’s Project Graduation. This family friendly event will feature a nighttime 5k, where residents can dress up in costume, decorate themselves with glow-sticks and flash lights, and run a certified course that culminates with a festival complete with food trucks, beer tent, an epic battle of the DJ’s and much more!Early-bird Registration is now open but will close on April 14th. Cost to register is $33 for individuals and $30 for teams of 3 or more. For non-runners, optional admission solely for the festival portion of the event is available for $5.00. The festival grounds will be open with a kid-zone, food and entertainment from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
