It’s the first week of June and the weather is hot hot hot.  There is so much to do this weekend including the Haddonfield Skirmish, The AC Beer and Music Festival, The Lighthouse International Film Festival, food truck festivals, Greek festivals, carnivals, and more. Let’s leave the house to explore what NJ has to offer (or not, you do you). If you’re looking for something to do… I got you. These are my top 20 picks are for June 3 – 5, 2022.

Skirmish 2022
June 4

Redcoats will charge, horses may rear, muskets will be fired. On Saturday, June 4, 2022, an exciting reenactment event will take place in Haddonfield, NJ. The British will invade and be challenged on Kings Highway by colonial troops. General Washington has ordered the militia to “annoy” the Redcoats, and we shall do so, with gusto. Paramus L.E.A.D Carnival
June 1 – 12

Mark your calendar to attend the L.E.A.D. FEST carnival to enjoy food, rides and more at the Westfield Garden State Plaza, One Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey. In addition to fairway rides, Scott’s World of Magic will be performing magic tricks at the carnival. Other entertainment and attractions are included in the general admission price of $5. The Lighthouse International Film Festival

The Sea, the Stars, the Stories are waiting for you at the Annual Lighthouse International Film Festival. This year, there are two ways to enjoy outstanding stories, with a FILM ONLY Pass or an ALL ACCESS PASS giving you VIP access to not only the film screenings but also the parties, panels, and Breakfast with the Filmmakers events!

Agora Festival
June 2 – 5

Since 1974. The Agora Greek Festival signature event kicks off with all-day festivals of food, wine, music, dance and song. The weekend-long festival is an annual initiative of the St Thomas Greek Orthodox Church in Cherry Hill, NJ which, stages a number of events that represent the Greek way of life and shares our rich cultural and artistic heritage. The tradition of our Greek beliefs, the best food this side of the Acropolis, delicious wines and great entertainment are celebrated.

Dog Days of Summer &  Music on Main
June 3, 5PM – 9PM
Join Boonton Arts for the opening reception of Dog Days of Summer 2022! The leash cutting kicks off at 6pm on the first Friday of June in front of our mural on the corner of Church and Main. Then grab a map and check out this year’s amazing sculptures. The opening reception coincides with Boonton Main Street’s event Music on Main, providing the soundtrack for the evening. Sculptures will be on exhibit up and down the length of Main Street from June through September! This year’s artists have really outdone themselves. Participants include a mix of past year favorites and inspiring new talent. Student artists will be showcased as well, with dogs and cats from local schools joining the exhibit. Sculptures still available for a donation benefiting NorthStar Pet Rescue, local schools and future art projects in the community can be found at www.BoontonArts.org.

Warren County Hot Air Balloons, Arts & Crafts
June 3 – 5, 2PM – 9PM

It was 21 years ago that the hot air balloon festival became a part of the annual Warren County Farmers’ Fair in Harmony Township, New Jersey. In 2020 the magnitude of the Fair, combined with the limited attendance, prohibited the Farmers’ Fair from taking place. The Balloon Festival went on to celebrate its 20th year, along with longtime sponsor Warren County Community College at their Washington location. It was one of the few events that took place. The response was overwhelming and the feedback from the public was that they desired more. This festival features Arts & Crafts vendors, in addition to Food Trucks.

Taste of Greece Festival
June 3 – 5

Experience a weekend of Greece. Fabulous activities, tasty foods and pastries as well as a live Greek band in the Outside Main Tent on both Friday and Saturday nights.

The Passaic County Book Festival
June 4, 11AM – 4PM

The Passaic County Book Festival will be an all-day event, featuring local authors, scholars, and poets across every genre. The event is a county-wide event that aims to promote and bring awareness to the arts and community through exchanging ideas, encouragement of continued research and creative expression, and the promotion of your local libraries. The County is partnered with PALS Plus to bring lectures, programs, and activities for all ages, centered around the written word. There will be games, activities, and author presentations all throughout the day

Randolph Food Truck & Music Fest

After a long winter, it’s time to celebrate Spring outside with a fun family festival. Join a great event featuring between 12-14 food trucks, live music, games, and activities for all ages! Please bring blankets & chairs, seating is not provided. No outside food, drinks, or coolers. Service dogs only. Activities: Throw House Hatchet Toss, ARTstitution, Boardwalk Style games, balloon artist for the kid’s visits with the ponies, and more!

Rock Hunger V

A high-energy music festival, featuring several well-respected local bands.
Groove along with great performances from The Attic, Dirty Blond (Blondie Cover Band), The Sticky Wickets, Marin Contini and The Porch Rockers! Cash bar, menu available, tricky tray prizes and 50/50 raffle are available to attendants. This lively event attracts an audience exceeding 200 people. Rock Hunger is a franchised event with national recognition. All proceeds benefit NFSB programs including the Food Pantry.

24th Annual Spring Chester Craft Show

Hasbrouck Heights Street Fair
June 5, 10AM – 5PM

The Hasbrouck Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce is the sponsor of the borough’s premier spring event, held annually along the Boulevard. It features area merchants, quality exhibitors, special crafter’s section, lots of great food booths and trucks, kiddie rides and kids area, live music and performances by local groups and more. The Boulevard will be closed to vehicle traffic from Raymond St to Washington Place and is open to the public from 10am-5pm. The Hasbrouck Heights Street Fair is known as one of the premier events in Bergen County.
