2023 Taste of Spring
April 14, 5:30 pm – 9 pm

Mayor Raymond A. Giacobbe, the Rahway City Council, and the City of Rahway’s Special Improvement District invite you to get your taste buds ready for our premier Restaurant Tasting Event, happening in Downtown Rahway—the Rahway Taste of Spring! Now in its 20th year, this event has been widely recognized as the largest tasting event of its kind in the NJ/NY Metro Area, typically with upwards of 40 eateries and bakeries, plus an additional 40 stations of national distributors of fine wine, boutique beers and aperitifs. With live music, good food, wines and beers from all over the world, Rahway’s Taste of Spring is the place to be this April.

Author Expo
April 15, 10 am – 3:30 pm

Attendees can expect to meet and interact with a wide range of writers, including bestselling authors and emerging talents. Smithville Art Walk
April 15, 10 am – 5 pm. Rain date April 16

The Smithville Art Walk in NJ is an annual event that showcases the work of over 75 talented artists from the region. Visitors can stroll through the picturesque village of Smithville, located in Galloway Township, and admire a variety of art styles, including painting, sculpture, pottery, and photography. In addition to viewing the artwork, attendees can also participate in interactive activities, watch live demonstrations, and purchase pieces directly from the artists themselves.

Ocean City Doo Dah Parade
April 15, 12pm – 2pm

The Doo Dah Parade Welcome in the Spring season with this comedy parade complete with over 300 basset hounds. It begins Noon on Asbury Ave. from 6th Street to 12th Street and then up to the Boardwalk ending at 6th & Boardwalk.

10th Annual Spring Model Train Show
April 15 & 16, 12 pm – 5 pm

The Garden State Model Railway Club train show features two large layouts with train operations representing all eras, including specialty trains. Come see some of the famous trains of the past and present, including regular appearances by Thomas the Tank Engine and his Friends. Parents and kids can get an up and close view and tour of our layouts, including the planning and construction of our second display in progress. In addition to our HO-scale trains featured, we offer a play area for children to play with and even run trains while mom and dad can relax, and are offering items for sale in case you wish to expand your train collection for home!

Daffodil Day at Reeved Reed Arboretum

Daffodil Day is a decades-old tradition in Summit, when visitors to the Arboretum have an opportunity to enjoy one of the largest daffodil collections in New Jersey – over 50,000 bulbs in bloom in the Arboretum’s glacially carved Daffodil Bowl. The day’s activities include Spring-themed games and crafts, a story trail, music, food, market vendors, their current art exhibit, and The Green Goats.

Spring Adoption Event at Czig Meister Brewing

Spring is in the air and it’s a great time to find your new family member and BFF! Please come out to our animal-loving brewery partner, Czig Meister Brewing and meet all the wonderful dogs and cats from New Jersey rescues. Attending will be: Cold Nose Warm Heart Rescue, Two Hearts Animal Rescue and Eleventh Hour Rescue and Your New Best Friend Dog Rescue.
**If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application with the specific rescue PRIOR to the adoption event. This will make the adoption process a lot easier for all, if approved.
