Arctic Outreach
February 29, 11AM – 7PM
The 5th Annual Arctic Outreach is lined up for Saturday, February 29th at Mud City Crab House in Manahawkin, NJ. The family friendly event includes food, beer, wine, hot cocoa, multiple bands, and huge auction…and it’s all outside! The premise for holding an outdoor event, in February in the Northeast, is to brave the cold so that we can raise money for the Jetty Rock Foundation.

Belmar St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The Belmar-Lake Como Saint Patrick’s Day Parade has grown into one of the largest parades in New Jersey. Enjoy bands, bagpipers, floats, and marching bands. This is a fun-family friendly event, be sure to wear lots of green and shamrocks.

Maple Sugaring Fest at Reeves-Reed Arboretum
March 1, 1PM – 4PM, Snow date is Sunday, March 3
Learn how early settlers tapped maple trees and turned the sap into delicious maple syrup! Take part in our family scavenger hunt and see whether you can successfully complete the “Maple Syrup Challenge”. Round out the day with a sampling of maple syrup made here at the Arboretum!

Cost: Maple Sugaring Fest is FREE for RRA Members and children under 3. The cost for Non-Members is $5 per person, $25 maximum per family.

Maple Sugaring Open House
March 1, 1PM & 3PM
Come to Schiff to experience this hands-on demonstration of maple sugar production with members of Schiff’s educational staff and Board. The tradition of maple sugaring began centuries ago with the Native Americans and early settlers and continues today as homeowners learn to identify, tap, and process the sap of Maple trees. Join us at the Nature Center for this 1 1/2 hour program at 1 pm and 3 pm. The educational presentation will explain the history of maple sugaring, the seasonal life cycle of the sugar maple tree, and how 100% real maple syrup is made from finding and tapping the tree. Following the educational program, enthusiasts can view the wood-fired evaporator at work and then move on to sampling the final product. Of course the best part is tasting fresh syrup and tasty treats made from our own Schiff maple syrup. An optional two mile field walk to the working maple grove will be offered to see the tapping and collection operation.

An annual fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Morristown that showcases the diverse fine restaurants and eateries of the Morristown area! Musical entertainment as you dine and test your luck at the tricky tray and raffle.
