Indie Street Film Festival
August 19 – 21

Indie Street Film Festival is a regional film and arts festival that combines its curated film selections with connective community events in order to celebrate human creativity and storytelling. ISFF is searching for films that voice high impact human stories from across all genres. We hand pick the most resourceful and innovative filmmakers from the US and across the globe to screen and connect with the engaged arts community of Red Bank and the Northeast. In the last 8 years, the festival has touted films that have also been official selections/nominees and award winners at Sundance, Slamdance, SXSW, Spirit Awards, and the Oscars.

Hunterdon County Fair
August 21 – 25

The Hunterdon County 4-H & Agricultural Fair runs from August 21-25, 2024, at the South County Park Fairgrounds in Lambertville, NJ. The fair offers free admission and $15 parking, featuring livestock exhibits, agricultural displays, rides, food vendors, and various family-friendly activities. The event showcases local talent and provides an engaging community experience.

Tri the Wildwoods Triathlon and Wild Child Triathlon

A Jersey Shore Triathlon at its finest! Since 2004, Tri the Wildwoods has been the flagship race for DelMoSports. Before TRI AC, before Escape the Cape, and before IRONMAN 70.3 Atlantic City there was Tri the Wildwoods. Coined a “Rite of Passage Race,” by the Cape May Star & Wave, Tri the Wildwoods has always been known as a race of unpredictable weather, a challenging course, and possibly the best after party for a triathlon in the state of New Jersey! Simply stated, it’s a “must do” triathlon ‘down the Jersey Shore! Canal Day Festival
August 24, 10 am – 5 pm

An old-time country fair that celebrates the Morris Canal and its contributions to the development of the communities along its banks. Come to a day of free family fun featuring a craft show, great food, and educational events, and enjoy a day of listening to a wide variety of musical entertainers. Musical performances from New Jersey’s best artists will feature Rock, Blues, Country, Classical as well as traditional and contemporary Irish Folk Music. performing on two stages. Learn about local history by taking a guided Morris Canal walking tour provided by the Canal Society of NJ. Experience life on the Morris Canal first hand by traveling down the canal on a free boat ride or prove your prowess by paddling a kayak. Fireworks at dusk.

Merchantville Porch & Garden Tour 2024
August 24, 10 am – 4 pm

Six of Merchantville’s loveliest gardens and porches will be open to visitors.  You will appreciate the uniqueness and diversity that is the heart of Merchantville: large and small gardens, fruits and vegetables, native plants or decorative!  The gracious homeowners put such work and effort into their visions for a perfect yard.  As well as property gardens, there are community gardens and spaces on display, and demonstrations are planned throughout the day.  It’s the perfect day to enjoy walking the Borough

Earth Center Garden Arts and Music Festival
August 24, 11 am – 3 pm

The EARTH Center is hosting a day-long celebration of Master Gardeners, featuring garden tours, live music, kids’ activities, and gardening contests. Families can enjoy fun activities such as a scavenger hunt, a performance by The Recycling Magician, a 4-H Small Animal Club exhibit, and a “Paint a Pot” activity. Rutgers Master Gardeners and Environmental Stewards will offer advice and guide visitors through various gardens, including children’s and vegetable display gardens, and the popular butterfly house. The event will also feature mini lectures on horticultural topics and culinary techniques. Gardeners are invited to bring their best home-grown produce for the “Greatest of the Garden” competition, with categories like Largest Tomato, Largest Zucchini, Strangest Heirloom, Biggest Sunflower Bloom, and Best Likeness to a Celebrity or Historical Figure. REPLENISH will be present, collecting non-perishable food donations from attendees.

Pupstock

Jersey City Pride Festival
August 24, 1 pm – 9 pm

The Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride Festival celebrates the diversity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, queer, intersex, and asexual communities and allies of Hudson County and the New York City Metropolitan area. Last year, the official estimate of attendance at the festival was 25,000 people. The Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride Festival is recognized not only as the premier LGBTQ+ event in Hudson County but also as one of the largest pride festivals in New Jersey.

Long Branch Jazz and Blues Festival

Craft Show & Antique Corner in the Park,
August 25, 10 am – 5 pm

The annual Craft Show & Antique Corner will be held on Sunday, August 25, from 10 to 5 at Veterans Park, Broadway & 3rd Ave, in Westwood, NJ with 125 exhibitors. The show is hosted by Westwood Heritage Society and promoted by P.J.’s Promotion. Visitors will have the opportunity to shop at the booths of the many talented artists and crafters who will be highlighting stained glass, woodwork, jewelry, florals, pottery, ceramics, apparel, photography, folk art, birdhouses, garden and children’s items, resin art, bonsai, soaps, candles, pumpkins and so much more. Be sure to stop by the Antique Corner where a treasure could be awaiting you. There you will find vintage toys, pottery, silver, prints, vintage paper, linens, primitives, Americana, lamps, glassware and so much more. Appraisals will be conducted by Jon Felz from 11 to 4. The cost is $5 an item. You can also indulge in a variety of festival foods, homemade pretzels, pickles, Italian ice, and desserts. The fair is held rain or shine with free admission.

Rancocas Woods Summer Fest

This August, the Rancocas Woods team is partnering with their farmers market to host its first Summer Fest. The event will feature a mix of farmers market vendors and vendors from the monthly craft and antique show, providing a fresh and exciting experience for those not heading to the beach. Attendees can expect crafts, activities, food trucks, a pop-up beer garden, and more.
