Top Ten New Jersey Events to Check Out Labor Day Weekend 2020

Oh hey…the weekend is here! I’ve made a list of 10 Events (didn’t you miss this?) that are worth checking out from September 4 – 7. Whether it’s a Friday night on the farm, fireworks, outdoor movies, the annual Airfest, and foodie events there’s plenty of fun going around this Labor Day Weekend. Remember to social distance and wear a mask!

Friday Evening Classic Car Cruise & BBQ
September 4, 5PM – 8PM

Johnson’s Corner Farm is back for another great season of Friday Night Classic Car Cruise and BBQ. Enjoy a beautiful evening of Friends, Family and great food at the farm. All eating will be outside. Masks will be required while in line. Visit the farm animals and play in the Discovery Barnyard and Splash Pad! Head on into the Farm Market for all of your Johnson’s favorites.

Movies Under the Stars
September 4, 7PM – 11PM

Westfield Garden State Plaza invites you to a fun family movie night under the stars. You can watch the movie from your car or bring some chairs and watch tailgate-style. Come early to enjoy DJ spun music and food and beverages from the various food trucks that will be onsite.
Food, drinks and music start at 7:00 pm. Movie starts at 9:00 pm. Cost is $20 per car. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Center For Food Action food pantry in Bergen County.

Friday Night Fireworks on the Beach in Wildwood
September 4, Dusk

Enjoy the summer fireworks extravaganza on the Rio Grande Avenue beach in Wildwood every Friday night at 10 p.m. Visible from almost anywhere on the Wildwoods Boardwalk! Hear the fireworks explode to a musical score that is played all along the Boardwalk and is simulcast on 98.7 The Coast. Rain date is Sunday at 10 p.m.

 AirFest 2020
September 4 & 5

This year’s modified AirFest celebration will include a flyover and landing by the Classic Jet Aircraft Association. Enjoy food and drinks, stop by the vendors booths, and groove to live music by the Animal House Band. On Saturday at noon, reenactor Pat Jordan will portray famous pilot Amelia Earhart. On Sunday at noon, actor Neill Hartley presents a one-man show about pilot Charles Lindbergh.

The Historic Village at Allaire Flea Market
September 5, 8AM – 2PM

Hunt for bargains among vintage treasures, bric-a-brac, books, art work, handmade items, knick-knacks and more!The event runs from 8am – 2pm. $3 per person (donation to the Historic Village at Allaire). Includes free admission to the Historic Village at Allaire. Pilsen Gourmet Food Truck, General Store, and Bakery will be open as well.

Pick Your Own Apples at Demerest Farms

Barn-B-Q Trail Festival: Run, Hike, & Party

Food Truck & Music Fest at Monmouth Mall

The Food Trucks are rolling into Central JerseySocial Distancing Style of course! Join the fun at this awesome event featuring: 20 gourmet food trucks, music, beer, margarita & sangria garden, airbrush & glitter tattoos on the arms & legs, pony rides, inflatables, games, sand art, spin art, vendors and more! LBI Chowder Month
September 5 (begins) and goes to October 4

Soup Up & Support Local! The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce responded to COVID 19 safety issues by creating a dynamic ChowderMonth to support local businesses. In place of Long Beach Island’s Chowderfest, this year’s 32nd annual seafood-soup affair will be an outdoor dining and takeout event dubbed Chowder Month. Hungry customers can enjoy chowder from multiple restaurants at their own pace and submit their vote for the best online.
