New Jersey Diner Review #305: The Country Restaurant and Diner in West Deptford
Located in West Deptford close to 295 and Route 44 sits the Country House Restaurant, a small family owner diner that’s been around since the late 80s.
Items on Their Menu That Stood Out:
– Authentic Greek gyro made with lamb
– Corned Beef
– a Reuben burger
– a Grilled meatloaf sandwich
– lots of specials
– lots of sandwiches, burgers etc
– lots of Greek options
And cajun french fries with cheese wiz. My friend ordered those!
In the end I couldn’t resist a mini meal which came with a cup of coup or salad, linguine or two vegetables, complimentary bread and pudding or ice cream. It’s an amazing deal and I ate everything on my plate.
Although they didn’t have any soup choices that I loved, I decided to order the chicken alphabet soup because it was something I haven’t had as a kid. I loved finding little letters in my soup.
For my main meal I ordered the chicken francaise, one of my favorite meals of all time. Luckily their version was just as good as any Italian restaurant. I soaked up all the sauce with bread.
As for my side, I decided two get to vegetables since I liked their options. I got a baked potato and fried zucchini, both were delicious. Sometimes vegetables are meant to be fried.
And last but not least I ordered a bread pudding for dessert. I’m not a huge fan or raisins, but despite that it was a decent dessert.
Overall it was a nice, classic diner visit.
