Mini Mac Diner in Chester: Review
I’ve been wanting to go to the Mini Mac Diner in Chester for a long time. It’s about an hour from me, and every time I’m in the area they’re not open. I was coming back from the Poconos, and since we passed it on our way there I knew we should stop there on the way home. Luckily we made it just in time before they closed!
Located on Route 206, the Mini Mac Diner is a small diner that is open daily for breakfast and lunch. This a CASH ONLY diner! Their menu is right above the counter, and the diner is so small that you can order right from there.
Their menu was SO cheap. With the exception of their “Sportman Special (pancakes or french toast with eggs and breakfast meat for $10), nothing on the menu was over $7.
With a smaller menu it was easier to make a decision, so I ended up getting the Chicken Basket which came with fries and a coleslaw. I was expecting chicken fingers, so I was very surprised when the meal came out and it was fried chicken! This was kind of fate because I had been craving fried chicken for a while, and you don’t see it too often at a diner. Needless to say, it was delicious.
Between my $7 fried chicken basket and my husband’s $2.70 hamburger, we got the best deal in town!
They don’t have too much dessert on their menu, but they do make homemade pies as well as serve ice cream, milkshakes, and pudding so there’s plenty of items for your sweet tooth.
The service at the Mini Mac diner was amazing. Everyone is so friendly! Between the decor on the walls and the table settings, I felt like I was in the country!
It was definitely a unique diner and I would highly recommend it. Homemade affordable food, quick and friendly service, and it’s in a great part of Morris County where there’s plenty of things to do.
