Meadows Diner in Blackwood: Review
I’m making my way through some more South Jersey diners! This time I hit up the Meadows Diner in Blackwood, located on Black Horse Pike.
Right off the back I loved the retro feel of the diner. There was so much chrome inside and outside, plus the neon lighting on the exterior gave the place a glow that was very welcoming.
Inside the diner sticks with the same motif. So many mirrors!!
I was there at 10:30pm, which is probably the latest I’ve ever eaten in my life. Their menu had everything you could imagine from breakfast to steaks, and their prices were super affordable. There is A LOT to choose from. You can even get their “Meadow’s Special” which is french toast, 2 eggs, one sausage link, one slice of bacon, one hot cake, and one slice of Canadian Bacon for under $9!
This diner also has a small salad bar, something that I’ve been seeing less of in the diner scene. There was a lot to choose from too!
Unfortunately, I was not too hungry when I went to the diner so instead of ordering something big (their portions were huge), I opted to go with something small: a grilled cheese.
You can never go wrong with Grilled Cheese, which is something that I never really order out since it’s so easy to make at home, but a diner grilled cheese is an exception.
I got my grilled cheese on rye, and it was the perfect comfort food. Their fries were good and crispy too!
My friend got a buffalo chicken wrap, which was so big that she ended up taking half home. It looked REALLY good.
My big regret was not getting dessert to go. Their dessert case look amazing. They had a cannoli cake that had small cannolis on top, and cannoli creme layering…ugh. Maybe next time.
Overall, a great local diner with good food and good service!
