LGBT in New Jersey
In celebration of the historic ruling by SCOTUS for same-sex marriage on Friday, and June being National LGBT month, I decided to start working on a LGBT section of NewJerseyIsntBoring.com. If you have ANYTHING to contribute…please email me at newjerseyisntboring@gmail.com
I’m still in the early stages, but here are a few resources for you:
Garden State Equality
Garden State Equality is New Jersey’s statewide advocacy and education organization for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community.
The Pride Center of New Jersey
The Pride Center of New Jersey, Inc. has been fulfilling the support and social needs of thousands of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex people since first opening its doors in 1994. A fast-growing community center located in Highland Park, The Pride Center provides a “safe space” for the LGBTIQ community: a place to learn about our community from a vast array of resources, a place to socialize and meet new friends, and a place to gain acceptance and understanding of your gender and sexual identity in a comfortable setting. The Pride Center offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere and a knowledgeable and helpful staff. Whether New Jersey’s LGBTIQ community is new or familiar to you, The Pride Center is a place to call home and return to again and again.
New Jersey Gay Life
The original, the official and still the best website for the Garden State LGBT community.
OutinNewJersey.Net
Out In Jersey Inc. was founded in October 2002. It was an expansion of a local newsletter of the Trenton Gay and Lesbian Civic Association (organization closed in 2008). The earlier publication was called Trenton Out and About. Out In Jersey is the only statewide LGBT magazine in the Garden State and the largest online web portal for the LGBT community in New Jersey for local LGBT news and event information. Out In Jersey magazine is published six times yearly and www.OutInJersey.net is updated daily.
Out In Jersey is the #1 and best source for news, commentary, show, TV, books and DVD reviews, as well as entertainment and feature stories. We specialize in covering news and events relevant to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community of New Jersey.
