The Trenton Downtown Association (TDA) announced that Danielia Cotton will perform at the Levitt AMP Trenton Music Series at 7pm on Saturday, September 19 at the Capital Green, 201 Barrack Street, Trenton, NJ. Admission is FREE and open to the public. All ages are welcome.

This show is ninth in a series of ten free family-friendly concerts running each Saturday at 7pm through September 26th at Capital Green. The series is made possible through a grant awarded by Levitt Pavilions, a national nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the social fabric of America through the power of free, live music. By creating a vibrant recreational and performance space downtown, the series provides an opportunity for the community to experience the arts. The diverse series lineup features high caliber talent spanning genres like salsa, jazz, classical, soul, indie rock, electronic and more. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair and their favorite foods to dine under the stars on the open-lawn setting.

“Trenton is a city with a rich jazz and blues musical history, and Ms. Cotton’s background makes her music a great match for the series,” said Christian Martin, Executive Director of the TDA. “We’re thrilled to welcome her to Capital Green.”

Danielia Cotton was raised in a small town in western New Jersey, surrounded by strong female jazz and gospel vocalists. Drawing on diverse influences from the soundtrack of her youth, including artists like Stevie Wonder, AC/DC and Tina Turner, Cotton taught herself to play guitar and began to channel her love for rock, jazz and gospel into a singular sound. The result is fiery, soulful, and irresistible. She has previously performed at Trenton’s Art All Night festival in 2013 and 2014. Opening act Chalk & The Beige Americans are a grassroots-organic soul-hop trio hailing from Philadelphia whose sound draws upon the musical stylings of ipod-joggers, laptop-DJs and MP3 chop-shops.
