Horizon Diner in Manahawkin: Review
The Horizon Diner is a great retro diner in Manahawkin right outside of Long Beach Island. In a quest to visit more Ocean County diners, we decided to venture to this diner en route to LBI.
This diner looks like it hasn’t been updated in a while, but I enjoyed it’s retro motif. There’s a lot of chrome in their counter area, and it’s VERY pink.
Their menu has typical diner fare, and since it’s close to the shore it also has a lot of seafood options. Rather than order something healthy, I ordered the unhealthiest thing I could ever order. Although it was delicious…I do feel like I made a mistake.
Behold! The fried seafood platter: flounder, shrimp, and scallops all fried up for you to enjoy! And I finished all of it in one sitting…
I thought I misread the description when it listed “fried mashed potatoes”, but I did not. Even my mashed potatoes were fried. Delicious, unique…but very bad for my health. Oh well, sometimes you need to indulge in some fried foods.
My husband got this enormous burger for a very fair price. Our bill came to a little over $20 and that was for A LOT of food.
Sorry to keep this review short and sweet, but I don’t know what else to say! Having said that, the food and the service at the Horizon Diner is great! You should check them out!
