The Harrison House Diner in Mullica Hill: Review

I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait a diner to get a table…but that is precisely what happened when I visited the Harrison House Diner in Mullica Hill on a Sunday afternoon. The place was PACKED so I knew I had stumbled upon something great.

Located on Main St, the Harrison House Diner is a local favorite of Gloucester County, in fact they were voted the best diner award in the county for 2014 and 2015.

The Harrison House Diner has been in existence for over 30 years in Mullica Hill, but the building itself has been around since 1963. It’s a family business started by Constantinos Benas, who first established the diner on Delsea Drive in Glassboro. The diner was moved in 1985 to its current location at the intersection of Routes 45 and 322 in Mullica Hill, and now Constantinos Benas’ son George, and grandsons, Constantine and Michael, continue their family tradition.

I went to the diner around brunch time, and I was overwhelmed with how many things on their menu I wanted. They have plenty of omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, Belgian waffles…oh my. I was enchanted by their Hot Cakes menu which included Cherry Cheesecake, Cinnamon Roll, Oreo, and “Pigs in the Mud” (Chocolate Chip Hotcakes
with Bacon & Nutella Chocolate Sauce).

Ultimately, I decided on getting one of their amazing sounding “Bennys”. My choice: The Crabcake Benny.

So much food! Can you believe I ate it all? I still can’t…

My husband got the “Waffle Combo”, which came with a Belgian Waffle, 2 eggs, and choice of meat.

Overall, this was a very pleasant diner experience with so much food I wanted to try that I’ll have to return! I can definitely see why it’s so popular and highly recommend.
