Press Release:

Wedged between the Trenton-bound train tracks and Alexander Road there was once an abandoned dumpsite used for municipal and household trash. This strategically located plot was not toxic, but needed a lot of TLC if it was ever to be reclaimed as a useful asset. Working with town officials, the Parking Authority agreed to invest in its care and leased the site to transform it into the surface lot that it is today.

Before the lot was built there was a parking permit waitlist exceeding 2 years, now a permit can be issued within 2 weeks.

The Princeton Junction Farmers’ Market, which operates every Saturday during the summer months, has successfully capitalized on the 3500 parking spot facility as a convenient destination; and the Parking Authority wants to build on that success.

Over the winter, Parking Authority board member Lyle Girandola planted the seed for the idea of merging the growing popularity of food trucks with the opportunity to utilize this community asset as a popular destination – and the Father’s Day Food Truck Fete came about.

With help from the Farmers’ Market, as well as the West Windsor Arts Council, the Parking Authority will ignite a spirit of community right in the heart of Princeton Junction by hosting the Father’s Day Food Truck Fete. It will run from noon to 5pm on Sunday, June 21, 2015; offer activities for all ages, beer for purchase and a photo booth to create memories with Dad. With the help of Surf and Turf Truck owners Adam and Beata Browne, dozens of delectable and unique dishes will be offered, and the new Vaughn lot will provide free parking for those attending.

Participating Food Trucks include:

Amandas Bananas – frozen non-dairy gluten free desserts

Cow and the Curd – Wisconsin fried cheese curds

Cupcake Carnival – artisan cupcakes
