The Franklin Park Diner: Review
While feeling hungry for lunch, I researched for the closest local diner to my current location and discovered the Franklin Park Diner. Oddly enough for a diner aficionado like myself, I had never heard of the Franklin Park diner located on Route 27. Turns out they’ve only been open since 2016 so I wasn’t completely out of the loop.
Located in Franklin Park in Somerset County, the diner may be new but it definitely has a local fan base. We arrived for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and had trouble finding a parking space!
The diner is on the small side, but still has plenty of seating including this cute diner counter:
In terms of their menu, the diner has your average diner fare ranging from breakfast all day, sandwiches, entrees, etc. Their prices are very reasonable and affordable…which was a big bonus!
The diner has stars on their menu indicated some of their customer’s favorites so we decided to try two of their popular choices.
My husband got the Breakfast Burger, a big burger with pork roll, egg, and cheese on top. How can you go wrong with that?
My entree came with soup, and I decided to go with the Matzoh Ball Soup which was a giant portion! It was perfect for the rainy day that we were experiencing.
I decided to get the “Roman Classic” since it combined a few of my favorite foods: Chicken Parm, Penne Vodka, and Garlic Bread.
It was delicious…but I could barely finish it. It made great leftovers for the next day!
If you’re looking for a local, affordable, and tasty diner…be sure to visit one of the newest diners in New Jersey, the Franklin Park Diner.
