An Evening of Promise: Bridging a Better Future Together – A Fundraiser for Families in Need to Take Place August 9

An Evening of Promise: Bridging a Better Future Together” is an upcoming celebratory fundraiser cocktail party hosted by the Family Promise of Hudson County (FPHC). The occasion is set to take place on Wednesday, August 9th, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Grace Van Vorst Church in Jersey City (39 Erie St, Jersey City, NJ 07302).

FPHC is dedicated to providing essential resources and support to families with children who have experienced or are at risk of losing their homes, helping them regain stability. Their services include assistance with rental arrears, shelter diversion, and short-term shelter, benefitting over 50 families, including more than 80 children and over 60 adults, during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This event highlights the collective impact that Family Promise of Hudson County has had, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic and rising rents. The organization invites individuals to be a part of their community and make a positive difference in the lives of others.

This event aims to honor individuals who have shown extraordinary compassion in caring for the most vulnerable during the pandemic: Hudson County Commissioner Bill O’Dea, South Hudson Civic Association Chairman Philip Kenny, and South Hudson Civic Association Board Member Chico Ramchal.

The proceeds from the event will contribute to Family Promise of Hudson County’s general operating costs. Each ticket for the event is priced at $73, representing the cost of supporting half a day of their operations. The organization’s goal is to raise ample funds through ticket sales, journal advertisements, and sponsorships to cover its general operating expenses.

FPHC wholeheartedly welcomes support from the community to continue its life-changing programs for Hudson County families. They are actively seeking volunteers with diverse skills to contribute and are also open to event sponsors interested in making larger tax-deductible donations.

Family Promise hosts several events each year to engage support, raise funds, and spread the word about our mission to end family homelessness. These events are invaluable opportunities to create relationships with people and companies who are interested in helping us make a difference in the lives of homeless parents and their children.

Tickets to the event are available on Eventbrite.
