Garden State Outdoor Show – Jan 8 – 11

The 32nd annual Garden State Outdoor Sports Show is taking place January 8-11, 2015 at the New Jersey Convention& Exposition Center in Edison, NJ. As one of the greatest sport shows on the east coast, our goal is to deliver top seminars, attractions, and exhibits designed to speak to sportsmen and women of all ages with a focus on activities the whole family can enjoy. The event is presented in partnership with The New Jersey Department of Fish and Wildlife, The New Jersey Outdoor Alliance, United Bowhunters of New Jersey and The New Jersey State Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs.

Kotoricon – January 9th & 10th

This year is a SPACE themed KotoriCon. There will be anime, time-travellers, Jedi, mecha, and Kotori floating about as a cute planetoid. KotoriCon is an anime convention and charity fundraiser,with guests, panels, performances, dealers, artists, Charity Auction, and more! Tickets are limited and no tickets will be sold at the door.

Tap that Tree – Jan 10

January marks the beginning of maple sugaring season.  Join Director of Children’s Education Jackie Kondel as she taps the Arboretum’s maple trees in preparation for this season’s sap flow. Not only will families learn the how’s and whys behind tapping trees, but will also get first-hand experience actually helping us do it!  Registration is required.

West Windsor Winter Farmer’s Market – Jan 10

Come see the local food of Central Jersey at the West Windsor Community Winter Farmers Market. In conjunction with Slow Food Central New Jersey 2015, this market features locally produced items such as meats, cheeses, eggs, bread, wine, and jams. There will be live music, as well. A $3.00 donation is suggested per person.

Horror Happens Film Showcase “Films of the Undead” – Jan 10

We are very proud to announce the next Horror Happens Film Showcase on Sat January 10th running 3 – 9 pm at the incredible NON-PROFIT programming center of the Camp Jefferson Theatre. The following award winning films including the short films The Facts in the Case of Mister Hollow by Rodrigo Gudino and Zombie Casserole by John Iwasz and Sanj Surati! Plus the two feature films including NORTH JERSEY PREMIERE of the indie acclaimed survival gem The Battery by Jeremy Gardner (Block 1)  and making its WORLD PREMIERE at the Horror Happens Film Showcase of Chris Eilenstine’s zombie epic The Soulless (Block 2)!  Tickets are limited (only 40 seats per film block) and run $15 for a full day VIP pass (tickets can only be purchased the day of the event via cash)! CommUnity: Members, Students Faculty Opening Reception – Jan 11

Arts Guild New Jersey is pleased to present its fourth annual CommUNITY: Members/Faculty/Student Art Show, featuring the artwork of Arts Guild New Jersey’s current artist members, and its talented instructors and students. The exhibition, which opens on January 11 and runs through February 5, 2015, was created to bring together and show appreciation for the many diverse people who are involved with the Arts Guild and who make its programs possible. A free, public reception will be held on Sunday, January 11, 1-4 PM, at Arts Guild New Jersey, 1670 Irving Street, Rahway, NJ 07065. Gallery hours are Saturdays and Sundays, 1:00-4:00 PM, and during regular office hours on Mondays through Thursdays, 10:00 AM – 3:30:00 PM and Fridays, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. The exhibition is wheelchair accessible.
