Diner Round Up – The Fine Diner in Clinton
For my two year wedding anniversary I took a trip with my husband to Clinton, NJ since that is where we got married. While I was there I visited The Fine Diner, a very fine diner located in the downtown area.
We went on a Sunday morning and it was PACKED. The parking lot was small since it’s a small diner, but luckily we got a parking space and were seated fairly quickly. I will also note that the hostess (who I think was the owner) was very sweet. We also spoke to some locals who were also waiting for a table, and it seemed to be a weekly spot for the residents of Clinton.
We came for breakfast and there was a mighty fine selection from which to choose from. Since we were celebrating a special occasion, I decided to splurge on something I normally wouldn’t get (an egg white omelet). After going back and forth between pancakes and french toast (on brioche bread…nom nom nom) I ended up getting apple cinnamon pancakes.
These pancakes were AMAZING. It was only a 75 cent difference to go from a short stack to a full stack so I decided to go big. I ended up with leftovers, which I was happy to take home. These were fluffy pancakes filled with fresh green apples. Delicious!
My husband decided to go with the “Red Mill Special” – 2 Eggs, 2 Pancakes and a choice of bacon or sausage. Cost – $8! It’s a great deal and it’s named after the Red Mill in town.

Overall, this was a great diner to celebrate a special occasion and if I were a local I can see myself visiting often! It’s a cute, hometown diner with a lot of character and great food. What’s not to like?
