Diner Round Up – Silver Star Diner
I got to check out the Silver Star Diner, formally known as the Marlboro Diner, on Route 9 in Marlboro (or Robertsville, which is basically the same thing).
I haven’t been there since they changed their name and renovated, and I must say the renovation is a very nice!
The diner itself is small in size, but what they use their space well. There is plenty of room at the diner for a big group to be accommodated. Their menu is fairly large, ranging from breakfast all day to Greek specialties. I ordered an eggplant parm sandwich, which was probably the messiest sandwich I’ve ever had but we very delicious. I spaced and forgot to take a picture, but I’m sure you can use your imagination. My husband ordered a big breakfast platter and I got to snap a picture of that before he completely devoured it. Overall the food was very good.
The diner has weekly specials listed on their facebook page including $2 milkshakes on Mondays!
If you’re traveling around NJ on route 9 in the Manalapan/Marlboro area, you should stop by. If you’re too full and don’t want to go home, you’re in luck…there’s a motel connected to it.
