Diner Round Up – Colonial Diner in East Brunswick

photo 3

I recently got the chance to go to Colonial Diner, which is located on Route 18 in East Brunswick (right near the famous Magnifico’s ice cream).

I’ve been to this diner many times, although I hadn’t been in a while, and it never disappoints. If you have been to the Americana Diner or the Skylark diner you know what to expect because they are owned by the same person. Since I already reviewed the Skylark diner, I didn’t want to get the same thing I usually do…so I tried something new: the blackened chicken quesadilla. I’m glad I got that, because that might be my new “regular” item. It was SO good.

My husband got something that might interest more of you NJ readers….the hangover burger (he was not hungover though). It’s pork roll, egg and cheese on a burger. Needless to say, he was happy.

The diner has a small menu, and it’s pricey (it feels like more of a restaurant than diner) but nonetheless the food is VERY good. The staff is always very friendly and professional too. Unlike Skylark, they do serve breakfast all day and their breakfast is super good.

We left very full…but we had to get ice cream at Magnifico’s’.

I definitely recommend it if you’re passing through the area!
