Diner Review #278: The Belvidere Diner
Open since 2006, the Belvidere Diner on Route 46 prides themselves in bringing you the best food in New Jersey. They are known for cooking their food from scratch, just like you would at home.
Items on their Menu that Stood Out:
– Escargot. I mean have you ever seen that on a diner menu. No, you have not.
– Pig Wings
– Mexican Pizza
– lots of gourmet sandwiches and burgers
– a full menu of steaks and seafood
– a full case of homemade baked goods
We had to take our food to go since we were passing through the area with our dog in tow. So we had to strategize what would be easiest to eat in the car and travel well.
I decided to get the Chicken Arugula sandwich which came with a choice of fries, zucchini fries, egggplant sticks, potato salad etc. I chose eggplant sticks because I also found that to be unique for a diner menu.
The sandwich was topped with arugula (duh), red onion, tomato and balsamic mayo. It was delightful.
My husband kept with simple with a classic grilled cheese and fries. You can’t go wrong.
After staring at the dessert case I ended up ordering a frosted brownie which was so rich it could have been shared with four people. Ultimately I ate most of by myself, but the point is that I could have shared it.
Although I wish we could have dined in, I was very impressed with the food quality and customer service of the Belvidere Diner. Definitely one of the better diners in the Warren County/Sussex County area.
