The *New* Dayton Diner: Review
Located on Route 130 in Dayton, The New Dayton Diner is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The interior and exterior of the Dayton Diner is filled with retro Americana 1950’s and 60’s charm. It has pictures and cutouts of legendary stars like Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, and Lena Horne.
Because we were there for breakfast, we were only offered the breakfast menu which is filled with omelettes, waffles, pancakes, etc. I started my meal with bottomless coffee.
After going back and forth between and omelette and blintzes, I went with the blueberry blintzes because I don’t really see that offered on too many diner menus.
Despite appearances, this was actually a lot of food. And between the blitzes and three cups of coffee I was content.
My husband got the Farmer’s Special which was basically everything from the breakfast menu combined into one meal: 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, sausage, French Toast, pancakes, homefries AND toast. It was a lot of food.
Both were filling meals and they came out QUICK.
The Dayton is also known for their “Pasta Night” on Wednesdays (an amazing deal for $12.99 which includes dessert) and early bird specials on weekdays (another great deal for $12.99).
Overall this is your typical average diner, which is never a bad thing. The food, service, and coffee were good…plus the location is convenient!
