The Crystal Diner in Toms River: Review
Located on Route 37, the Crystal Diner is very patriotic looking diner in Toms River, New Jersey. It has the classic diner look of shiny chrome on the outside, and the fountain in front was a nice touch.
Inside the diner was equally red, white, and blue.
It’s a very big and spacious diner, with a lovely diner counter. I would describe the diner’s look as pretty retro with some modern accents.
The Crystal Diner’s menu was fairly big with lots of choose from. There were a lot of sandwiches, burgers, seafood, Mexican specialties, and much more. They also have a very nice dessert menu, which had lots of good looking dessert as well.
I arrived thirsty and tired, and ordered an unsweetened iced tea. I loved that the diner had it’s own personalized glasses!
The diner itself is somewhat on the pricier side, and since I wasn’t too hungry on my arrival I had difficulty deciding what to get. New Jersey was in the middle of a heat wave during my visit, and I did not want my leftovers sitting in the car!
Even though I had tacos earlier that day for lunch, I decided on getting the appetizer portion of their chicken quesadilla. They also had that option as an entree, but I was feeling cheap and wanted to save $3.
I’m glad I only ordered the appetizer portion because it was HUGE. It also came with a side of sour cream, salsa, lettuce, cheese, and my favorite, guacamole. Considering the guac wasn’t listed in the menu description I was very pleased.
Overall I had a typical diner experience at the Crystal Diner. The food was good, the service was nice, and the food was definitely filling!
