CELEBRATE FALL – and the return of the Goats!

Reeves-Reed Arboretum; 165 Hobart Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901
Date: Sunday, October 25, 11 am to 4 pm

Press Release:

Celebrate the bounty of Fall – golden autumn colors, crisp weather, yummy harvest fare – with family and friends, and goats, at Reeves-Reed Arboretum’s eagerly anticipated annual fall festival, CELEBRATE FALL, Sunday, October 25, from 11 am to 4 pm.

The overarching theme for CELEBRATE FALL this year will be the eagerly anticipated return of our herd of eco-goats. Thanks to our friends, Larry and Anne Cihanek from Rhinebeck, NY, our ‘green goats’ will once again be on hand to clear the Arboretum’s historic Daffodil Bowl, as well as provide comic relief with their antics and gentle good natured frolicking.

Along with a visit to the goats, the day’s fantastic festivities will also include music, games, face painting, a costume parade, apple cider demonstrations (with RRA Horticulture Director, Marc Montefusco), an outdoor green market and craft fair, and pumpkin decorating. A special added treat for this year will be a live presentation of various birds of prey, including hawks, eagles, falcons, and owls, by the Raptor Trust of New Jersey. These endangered birds are beautiful and intriguing creatures, and are the essence of wildness and freedom. Together, with our eco-goats, CELEBRATE FALL offers the rare opportunity for all to see and appreciate the representation of stability as well as diversity in the living world.
