The Bridgewater Diner: Review
Is there anything better than Sunday breakfast at a New Jersey Diner? The Bridgewater Diner located on Route 22 was my destination for for a particular hungry morning.
The owners of the Bridgewater Diner also own the Metuchen Diner and Spinning Wheel Diner in Lebanon which I’ve been to previously. Since both experiences were good, I had a good feeling that this visit would be too.
Their breakfast menu was massive with lots of options ranging from eggs, breakfast sandwiches, omelettes, waffles, pancakes, french toast, and more. They also have a great list of “Breakfast Specials” which are offered daily. My husband got the “Bridgewater Special”, a Short Stack of Pancakes, Two Eggs, two Bacon Strips & one Sausage Link. For under $10 this breakfast was well worth it!
It also came with juice and coffee or tea. I stole his tea.
I had a lot of difficulty figuring out what to get since everything looked delicious and they had a lot of unique options. Should I get the “Jersey Omelette” (Pork Roll, Tomatoes & American Cheese), the “Eggs Atlantis” (Homemade Crab Cakes Topped With Poached Eggs & Hollandaise Sauce), or their homemade Potato Pancakes?
Ultimately, I decided on the “Honey Custard French Toast” – Challah Bread Dipped In Egg, Cream, Cinnamon & Honey Custard Then Grilled Golden Brown, Topped With Walnuts, Dusted With Powdered Sugar, and Served With Fresh Fruit.
I did not regret my decision! It was AMAZING and only $7. Can’t beat that. Is it just me or is French Toast better when it’s made with challah?
Since I did not go to the Bridgewater Diner for lunch or dinner, I can’t give my opinion, but if it was anything like breakfast I’m sure it’s very good.
