About the Event:
Boonton Arts invites artists and arts groups of all levels to be a part of the Third Annual Dog Days of Summer. We are currently looking for artists to submit their designs that will be applied to the many different dog breeds we have available. This year we have added a Student program that will allow young artists to transform their 2-D ideas into 3-D works of art. We have added many new levels of sponsorship and have made it very easy for you to own your design. Please follow the links below for information about submitting your design or sponsoring a dog.
About the Dog Days of Summer Project:
The mission of the Dog Days of Summer project is to bring the arts and community together to make a difference for animals in need. You are invited to join us for the Sponsor and Artist Concept Reception Party on February 4 at Speakeasy Art Gallery. The dogs will be on display from June – September 2015 in historic Boonton, NJ. The dog sculptures will be available for purchase on Etsy throughout the summer with proceeds benefiting Mt Pleasant Animal Shelter,The Montville Animal Shelter through Montville Pet Parents Organization, future Boonton Arts projects, and the contributing artists.
Dog Days of Summer is in its third year and has raised awareness and funds for animal organizations such as The Seeing Eye, Eleventh Hour Rescue, and Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter, helping them to continue to provide their incredible services to our community. Over the past two years, Dog Days has drawn thousands of spectators to Boonton to experience these amazing public art installations.
By visiting Boonton, spectators have the opportunity to experience Boonton’s unique downtown, shop Boonton Main Street’s independent businesses and fabulous restaurants, while supporting our local economy. Dog Days has also received great press coverage in television spots, online and print publications such as The Daily Record,The Neighbor News, NJ.com and many more.
