My Afternoon at Columbus Flea Market
Last Saturday, I spend the afternoon at the Columbus Flea Market with my husband. Can you believe I’ve lived my entire life (almost 30 years) without going here? It blew my mind, especially since I’ve driven past it so many times and I LOVE flea markets. Since we had an afternoon free, we decided to check it out.
Other than the fact that the flea market had a great Amish market, I didn’t know too much about it. Since I knew the Amish market would be closed on a Sunday, it was a good thing we could make it on a Saturday. It was also the first thing we checked out when we got there.
The market has everything! Soft pretzels, homemade ice cream, homemade soda, deli, more than one bakery, candy and BBQ. Apparently it doesn’t matter what time it is, there is always time for BBQ. I witnessed people eating delicious looking ribs at 10:30am.
Lots of food to choose from at affordable prices. The place was packed! I felt bad taking photos inside the market since they’re Amish, so I tried my best to get a photo to give you an idea of how it looked without getting a picture of the workers.
We strolled around the inside portion of the flea market for a while. Since we went in early February, it was cold (but not too cold) so we liked that they had so many stores inside. There is everything there! A leather store, Army/Navy store, pet store (where I saw a woman holding a lizard on a leash) and much, much more. Want to get a haircut while you’re there? Perfect! They have a hair salon! How about your nails or waxing? You got it! They even have a small arcade.
In addition to have lots of places to eat all around the flea market, they also have wine tasting booth for Valenzano wines! So at 11am I was drinking (free) samples of wine, including new wine that they’re not officially selling yet. They also had a “damaged label” sale where you could get 4 bottles for $20. Awesome deal! We ended up purchasing a new sangria for only $11. Not too shabby.
After day drinking, we ventured outside to check out the outdoor market. Since it was Winter it wasn’t as populated, but there were still a few booths selling everything from local honey to “discount” hygiene supplies. There was really a little bit of everything including clothing, shoes, cell phone accessories and more. There was even a few food trucks there! It’s definitely something to check out in warmer weather. LOTS of empty tables just waiting for sellers.
There were also stores selling antiques and used items, including these sweet NJ license plates that we bought at only $2 a piece. I haven’t decided where to put these yet, but I’m thinking they’ll look cool in my very New Jersey themed office.
Great find at the #columbusfleamarket! #newjersey license plates only $2 each! #njisntboring

We went back inside to warm up, and walked around the indoor market to make sure we saw everything there was to see. One of my favorite stores was Beyond Kollectors Choice, a toy store which has vintage, used, and somewhat new toys for sale. I had a good time looking through their merchandise. I was SO tempted to buy an ‘N Sync JC Chasez barbie for $14.99 but ultimately decided to pass. They had lots of old school barbies, and if I had a place to put them and had endless cash, this store would have made a good profit off of me.
And last, but certainly not least, we got pizza from Kate and Al’s. I was recommended to eat their pizza before we got there and was messaged on social media to go there while we were there. I am never one to turn down a good slice of pizza, so of course we got a slice before we left. And yes, it was as amazing as everyone said it was going to be. I was also impressed on how busy they were on a cold day. Gotta love the 1st birthday plate they served it on too.
All and all, an amazing first trip to the Columbus Flea Market. Lots of things to do and eat. You could easily spend an afternoon or full day there. I love that they have a little bit of everything, including a (super affordable) farmer’s market!
I will definitely be back when the weather it warmer to explore more unique finds (and eat more pizza).
