Princeton restaurant North End Bistro is collaborating with Princeton wine shop CoolVines to create “Abbondanza,” a unique four-course dine-and-wine event on Friday, September 11, 2015. The dinner will start at 7pm, at North End Bistro, 354 Nassau St, Princeton, NJ.

“Abbondanza” is Italian for “abundance.” When the harvest is plentiful, the Italian people like to celebrate that “life is good” with a feast. The dinner will include seasonal vegetables from the restaurant’s own gardens, which are extensive.

CoolVines has selected red and white Italian wines from the volcanic regions of Italy, to pair with each course.

“Our customers love our new menu and keep asking for new taste experiences,” says John Procaccini, co-owner of North End Bistro and the Gretalia Hospitality Group, which oversees 6 area restaurants. “So, this dinner showcases the freshest and best of the garden.

“Just as New Jersey is famed for its tomatoes, the volcanic regions of Italy produce some of its best wines,” says Mark Censits, owner of CoolVines. He notes that “geology plays a major role in the taste of wine and we have specially curated this complex selection to bring out the flavors of the food North End will serve.” Roberto Scarpati, of SOILAIR Selections, a noted wine importer, will emcee the presentation of the wines, telling stories of the land, the people and the grapes. Customers who like the wines will be able to buy them at CoolVines following the event.
