A Capital Celebration

Celebrate New Jersey’s 350th Anniversary at a Family Festival on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Capital Complex in Trenton. This will be a celebration of the arts and history with activities and attractions for people of all ages and food and beverages from local vendors and a special beer tasting. On-site for the day will be the acclaimed New Jersey Hall of Fame Mobile Museum, and a NJ 350 Film Series at the State Museum auditorium will feature great New Jersey films and filmmakers from Thomas Edison to Zach Braff followed by an exclusive presentation by tv critic, columnist and radio personality, David Bianculli. A highlight of the afternoon is a must-see State House Rotunda exhibition of the original 1664 land grant – or New Jersey’s birth certificate – that created our state as we now know it. This event is a rain or shine affair.

Washington Lake Park Wine Festival

The summer season will uncork in grand style once again when 18 of New Jersey’s finest wineries join together for the 2nd Annual “Washington Lake Park Wine Festival”-definitely the best wine festival in New Jersey- taking place Saturday and Sunday June 21-22, from 12 noon – 5pm each day. Produced by GPS, Inc., this weekend of great New Jersey wine, delicious culinary treats, fabulous live music, hand-made artisan crafts and kids activities are the right way to “sip into summer”!

New Jersey/Philadelphia BADASS Dash

The BADASS Dash™ K9 Companion division is the first of its kind in the OCR genre where participants can bring their canines to take part in a race specifically designed / modified for them to compete as a team. Those not racing are encouraged to travel the course alongside the racers and cheer them on as they move from obstacle to obstacle as well as joining in the festivities of the POST-RACE FESTIVAL which will host racers and canines alike, vendors and spectators in a festival atmosphere with the inclusion of live entertainment, a pet expo area, a beer garden, food & beverages, an awards ceremony, contests and prize giveaways. The Art of Ringo Star

The Art of Ringo Star collection will be on display at Caesars Atlantic City (Tiberius Room), where it will be displayed by Ocean Galleries on Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21 from 1pm to 5pm. Anyone who acquires Ringo’s artwork throughout the exhibition run will have the opportunity to meet and have a photo taken with the legendary artist at a private reception on Saturday, June 21 prior to the All Starr Band’s performance at Caesars. Buyers will get to meet Ringo June 21 prior to his All Starr Band concert at Caesars. As Ringo Starr hits the road this summer with his 14th All Starr Band, a collection of his art, composed by Starr electronically, will make companion stops at galleries in three select cities. Ocean Galleries was chosen for one of the gallery shows in conjunction with the Atlantic City performance. This is a FREE exhibit.

Baymen’s Seafood and Music Festival

Enjoy delicious Jersey fresh clams, crabs, scallops and shrimp from the finest local seafood purveyors. Micro brew court. There will be crafters, vendors, music, food, refreshments, family activities, demonstrations, boat rides, boat builders and decoy carvers. Speak with commercial fishermen to learn about occupations on the bay or take a clam shucking class. So bring the family and plan to spend the day. Music from local favorites: The Mott’s Creek Pickers on Saturday & The Billy Walton Band on Sunday.
