3 Exciting Art Workshops this January at Arts Guild NJ in Rahway

winter 2016 banner_2Registration is open for Winter workshops for adults at Arts Guild New Jersey. The Arts Guild will be offering three exciting workshops on January 30th, 2016: Pastel Painting taught by Sam Vega, Techniques in Colored Pencil and Ink Wash taught by Robert Kogge, and Zen-Doodle taught by Nick Mockoviak. All workshops will be held in our studio classroom space on the corner of Easterbrook and Milton Avenues in Rahway at the Senior Center Annex, 175 West Milton Avenue.Picture1

Pastel Painting taught by Sam Vega will be held on Saturday, January 30th, 2016 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. The workshop fee is $85 for Art Guild Members and $95 for non-members. Create colorful artworks by drawing/ painting with soft and hard chalk pastels. Using photographs or working from a still life set-up, this workshop will guide you in techniques of creating pastel paintings using time-honored techniques. Also learn to use pastel as an enhancement to black & white drawings that you have drawn beforehand. A materials list will be emailed to you after registering for this workshop.

Techniques in Colored Pencil and Ink Wash taught by Robert Kogge will be held on Saturday, January 30th, 2016 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. The workshop fee is $85 for Art Guild Members and $95 for non-members. This class will present an exciting technique working with colored pencils on a canvas toned with a dark ink wash. This is an excellent method of creating naturalistic artworks with relatively simple means. Students can use reference materials such as photographs, take subject matter directly from nature or do a version of something they’ve completed in a different medium. Individual attention will be provided to all. A materials list will be emailed to you after registering for this workshop.

Zen-Doodle taught by Nick Mockoviak will be held on Saturday, January 30th, 2016 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. The workshop Picture2fee is $85 for Art Guild Members and $95 for non-members. Everyone can doodle and if you can doodle, you can create Exciting & Colorful Zen-Doodle patterns! Using markers and white paper students will learn to achieve complex patterns in color that will amaze and please you. Create beautiful and intricate drawings just by using common lines and shapes. In Zen-Doodle, anyone can create interesting and wonderful artwork. This relaxing creative process requires no artistic experience or background knowledge. Zen-Doodle helps to relieve stress and help with improving focus, one line at a time. Drawing experience not required. A materials list will be emailed to you after registering for this workshop.

Arts Guild New Jersey is a non-profit multi-disciplinary arts center located in the downtown Arts District in the City of Rahway, with a mission to provide quality arts programs for the benefit of the Northern and Central New Jersey area.
