Lighthouse International Film Festival: June 5th – 8th

The Lighthouse International Film Festival was founded by a collection of filmmakers, film critics and film industry professionals who share a passion for film and wanted to create an event aimed first and foremost at film enthusiasts. The 2011 festival will present feature films, shorts, documentaries and family films, as well as panel discussions with leading film industry professionals. Taking place on Long Beach Island, NJ — one of the East Coast’s most popular surfing destinations — the festival celebrates three days of new, exciting and challenging films in honor of Long Beach Island’s historic Barnegat Lighthouse. This event is June 5th – 8th.

AnimeNEXT 

AnimeNEXT is the largest independently organized anime convention in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. AnimeNEXT 2014 will be held at the Garden State Expo Center in Somerset, New Jersey on June 6-8. The convention features Japanese creators of anime and manga, voice actors from anime series, Japanese musical acts, artists, vendors and exhibits, panels, workshops, and gaming. Events all focus on aspects of anime, manga, and Japanese culture. With the popularity of anime and manga growing in the 1990′s and 2000′s, anime conventions have seen positive growth in their attendance; AnimeNEXT is no exception.

The first annual Festival of Dogs is a fundraiser to help raise funds for 3 Hearts 4 Paws Animal Rescue. They are a non-profit organization and all money raised will go directly back to the dogs and to help rescue even more!!!They will have lots of amazing and unique vendors to shop with, a Doggie Kissing Booth, Bake Sale, 50/50 and mini gift auction and a face painter. They will also have all of our available dogs for adoption at the event! Admission is free and you are welcome to bring your own dogs to the event as well! NJ Con: Fire in the East – June 7th & 8th

This year New Jersey’s Premier Wargaming Convention kicks off on Friday June 6th, the 70th Anniversary of D-Day. We are returning to the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Raritan Center located at 97 Sunfield Avenue, Edison, NJ 08837. In addition to the usually diverse gaming schedule you can expect to see a number of Tournaments. Saga, X-Wing, DBMM and Flames of War events are all in the works and more information will be sure to follow.

New Jersey International Film Festival: May 30th – June 15th

The Rutgers Film Co-op/New Jersey Media Arts Center proudly announces the 19th Annual 2014 New Jersey International Film Festival. The 2014 festival will be held on select evenings between May 30 – June 15, 2014 and will showcase the best in independent film by featuring premiere screenings, filmmaking workshops, and special guest appearances by film directors, screenwriters, cast and crew.

Vintage Marketplace with Gourmet Food Trucks – June 8th

On Sunday, June 8, 2014  the Vintage Marketplace will be hosting their inaugural event from 11:00am till 7:00pm at 1050 Wall Street West, Lyndhurst, NJ (parking lot of the Whiskey Cafe).  Additionally,this event will feature exhibitors selling antiques, vintage and collectibles, live music and a beer & wine garden. It is FREE to attend.
