A Romantic Evening (Plus Chocolate!!) at the Plantation Restaurant in LBI
Happy Valentine’s Day! This year my husband and I celebrated early at the Plantation Restaurant (7908 Long Beach Blvd, Harvey Cedars), a contemporary American restaurant located in Long Beach Island. If you’re looking for a romantic spot for dinner on the island, this is definitely a place that I would recommend.
The restaurant is definitely a romantic restaurant from it’s low lighting,
fireplace,
comfy tables, and decor.

The Plantation Restaurant is open year round and features happy hours, days of the week specials, and a full bar with craft beer and signature cocktails.
I picked the Plantation Restaurant for Valentine’s Day because LBI was celebrating their annual Chocolate Week (which is from now until February 18th) with participating restaurants. Chocolate and Valentine’s Day is always a winning combination!
I started my meal with their New England Clam Chowder. I love clam chowder, but I liked ordering it from a restaurant that was close to the ocean and sourced local ingredients.
This hearty soup is topped with crispy clams and it’s DELICIOUS and quite filling. I found myself scoping up every inch of it with their equally delicious bread. I highly recommend it.
I also ordered the Lobster Gruyère Quesadilla (made with Crimini Mushroom, Tomato Confit, Lemon Basil Oil). It was as delicious as it looked! I’m a big fan of quesadillas, so to have this unique seafood spin was really special.
My husband got the Wild Boar Special that they had that night and boy was it delicious (I know because I stole some from his plate).
Since it was the beginning of LBI’s Chocolate Week we indulged in amazing chocolate desserts including their chocolate lava cake…
and their Fair trade chocolate bar dessert topped with dark chocolate cremeux, double chocolate ice cream, and fresh berries. AMAZING.
And if that wasn’t enough, we got to try to chocolate truffles at the end of the meal. Perfect for Valentine’s Day!
If you’re looking to visit the Plantation Restaurant (for free tastings and samples), they are one of the restaurants participating in The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce (SOCC) 10th anniversary LBI Region Wedding Road Show. The event will be held on Sunday April 22nd, 2018 and is free to the public, registration is highly encouraged. The event features samples, tastings and many chances to win giveaways! Brides and potential party-throwers will have the opportunity to meet directly with vendors and venue coordinators, enabling them to take advantage of booking right at the event. Additional Venues that will be open with showcases include: the SeaShell Beach Resort, Surf City Yacht Club, The Surf City Hotel, The Brant Beach Yacht Club and Parker’s Garage.
