Stumpy’s Hatchet House Opens in Eatontown
Stumpy’s Hatchet House – the First Hatchet Throwing Venue in the US- Opens in Eatontown, NJ
Press Release:
When two couples got together on a summer night, they had no idea that in nine months they would have an innovative business that attracted people of all ages to “let it go”. Stumpy’s Hatchet House features eight throwing pits that accompany up to eight people each for what the owners call “a social throwdown,” The sport of hatchet throwing is a back to basics form of recreation, bringing together friends for a primitive and organic experience. After a brief training with their throwing coach on safety and procedure, participants are led into the rustic outdoor-like setting of the hatchet throwing pits, complete with a 15 foot pine tree, skylights and tall timbers.
And then the fun begins… In their safe, controlled throwing pit, customers take turns hurling their hatchet to the target, honing in on their form and technique. After several trials, most find this activity to be addicting. When not throwing, friends gather in the common area at large farm tables and comfy couches. While you are welcome to order food in, snacks, beverages and ice are available for purchase.
Owners Mark and Trish Oliphant and Stuart and Kelly Josberger wanted their venue to provide more than just hatchet throwing. In the “Wood Shed” party room, a live edge counter is utilized for buffets and an extra long farm table provides seating for a large group. Whether it’s a business meeting/corporate outing or a bachelor, bachelorette, birthday, or divorce/break up party, this room provides a unique setting for a private celebration. Trish and Kelly are ready to assist to make your event a success with catering packages to meet your needs and compliment your party theme.
