Skipper Dipper opened its doors and dipping cabinets in the groovy summer of ’78 to give Long Beach Island its favorite place to go for ice cream. The flavors and toppings have changed some through the years, but Skipper’s menu, offering a wide assortment of soft and hard ice creams, shakes, sundaes and ice cream cakes, is as timeless as ever. When I was LBI people kept telling me to go to Skipper Dipper…so I did! The line was long but went very quickly thanks to an efficient staff. Great ice cream choices as well! No seating inside, but there are a few tables outside.
