Enjoy Halloween Fun this Year at the Haunted Mill in Clinton

Halloween is right around the corner and everyone is looking for a good scare. For twenty six years The Haunted Mill at the Red Mill Inn (56 Main Street) in Clinton, NJ has been giving people of all ages a good fright.

The history behind the Red Mill has a pretty paranormal feel to it it’s self so it makes perfect sense to set up an elaborate Halloween haunt. Two ladies, Donna Stumm and Susie Grow, started this event in the gift shop costing only fifty cents to get in. Over the past twenty six years it has grown in to something so large that seventy-five plus volunteers including local North Hunterdon Prep students build two large free standing structures to extend the terror.

Each one of these individuals who help with this event is all volunteers most of the people just walked up with paint brushes in hand ready to go! The detail and hard work that goes into the sets, makeup and costumes creates just the right level of scare. These pitch black structures include mazes, dark hallways, scary music and a host of amazingly dressed actors to make sure you have a haunted time.

The Haunt stretches over several acres of the grounds at the Mill and also includes a terror trail. The trail walks you through the trees and dark pathways of the grounds, while I cannot give away everything rest assured you will definitely get a scare.

The trail also offers a ride back to the museum where you head into the last part of the haunt. This part offers more scary characters and haunted hallways. While Paul the creator of the Terror Trail likes to keep his terror a surprise it will tie perfectly in this year’s theme of the Grim Fairy Tales. This haunt offers plenty of scary and exciting elements, from its group of professionally dressed actors to its haunted mazes and terror trail you will think twice about going alone!

If you are looking for something a little less scary The Haunted Mill offers a kid’s haunt on October 22nd and 29th from 10-1. This includes hay rides, cider doughnuts and less of a spook. There will also be food vendors on site to serve you while you wait to enter your haunted treat.

The Haunted Mill at the Red Mill opens on October 14th. More information including times, prices and dates can be found on the website theredmill.org
