Diner Round Up – The Pop Shop in Collingswood
I have been hearing great things about the Pop Shop for years! The last time I was in Collingswood there was a line around the door to get in. Since I was going to be in the area again, I made plans with friends to meet there as soon as they opened.
I have been told that the Pop Shop is famous for 3 things: Grilled Cheese, Milkshakes and Pancakes. Since I was there at 8am in the morning, I opted just to try the pancakes on this visit, although I will definitely be back again to try the rest!
Pictured above is the “2+2+2” – 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, and 2 pancakes. I opted to get egg whites and turkey bacon, and they were very accommodating. Their pancakes were delicious and very cake like. Because I couldn’t finish my meal at the diner, I ended up eating my leftovers in the car. They were even good cold!
Two of my friends got the “Walking in Memphis” omelette: BBQ pulled pork with caramelized onions and cheddar cheese. It looked amazing!
They had a lot of great, unique dishes for breakfast. I was tempted to get the “2 Eggs in a Swimming Hole”, which was two fried eggs inside a country-style sourdough bread topped with smoked salmon, sour cream and scallion served with shoestring hash browns. Perhaps another time…
The Pop Shop is one of the cutest places I’ve been to. It has a great counter, and fun stuff hanging on the walls!
I will definitely be back. If YOU visit, spend some time in Collingswood as well!
