One of the amazing things about New Jersey is that because the state is so small you can take an hour+ drive anywhere and spend the day somewhere you might not have been before. Here are some of my recommendations:

Want to spend an amazing day shopping? New Jersey has more than just malls, it has amazing flea markets scattered all throughout the state! Whether you love antiquing, used furniture, or want to check out local vendors, I can’t recommend flea markets enough! Some are year-round, some are seasonal, and some are just a few times a year…but all are worth checking out!

Lighthouses! There are so many beautiful lighthouses in New Jersey…some you can tour and some you can gawk at. Either way, they’re a great part of a day trip.

Zoos, aquariums, and planetariums are family-friendly, fun, educational, and in some cases…FREE!
