Working from a Coffee Shop

Working from a Coffee Shop: Booskerdoo Coffee & Baking Co

With five locations and counting, Booskerdoo Coffee and Baking Co is a terrific spot to get work done. From their large assortment of their roasted coffee and house baked treats, you can easily spend a few hours there.

Booskerdoo was officially born on 2011 in the downtown area of Monmouth Beach as a coffee shop with a roaster on the retail floor. It is the coffee child of James & Amelia Caverly, who started experimenting with coffee in their one bedroom NYC apartment. Their shop did all roasting to order, making sure that all coffee in the shop was never more than 7 days old. They became so popular that they created a wholesale program and expanded their business to build more locations.

I visited their Asbury Park location to get some work done while I was in the area. Luckily for me it wasn’t too busy at the time (noon on a Sunday) so I could find a comfy place to work. And they have free WiFi…so that made it easy for me to get some blogging done.

Booskerdoo has lots of great coffee options from cappuccinos, lattes, drip coffee and more.  They also have a great selection of their own tea blends ranging from black, green, chai, and decaf.

I started off with a classic large cold brew. It was my first coffee of the day, and it was a good choice! I definitely needed a caffeine boost, and this drink got me through the rest of the day.

The coffee shop has their different coffee options on tap with flavors like Jersey Diner (my fave of course) which is their signature roast, Mexico Sierra Mixteca, Eastern Standard (medium roast), Black and Tan (a mix of light and dark coffee), and After Dark their signature very dark and smoky coffee.

Additionally Booskerdoo has their own bakery which churns out baked goods like cookies, hand held pies, frittatas and more. They also have vegan options, parfaits, oatmeal and more.

Since they do their baking on premises at the Asbury Park location I decided to indulge in a baked good. I decided on a lemon curd cookie with my coffee which I really enjoyed.

Booskerdoo also sells a variety of coffee and tea to go, along with fun t-shirts and other coffee merch. I’ve gotten their Hibiscus Berry blend to make at home before, so I decided to get an iced version before hitting the road.
