Coda Rossa Winery: Vineyard Review

Coda Rossa Winery - Exterior

While I have had Coda Rossa wine at many wine festivals, my visit to Coda Rossa winery in early December was my first.

First impressions of the winery was that it was was a beautiful winery that sits on a property with lots of vines. We were there during their holiday season, and their holiday decorations were warm and welcoming. They even had their own Christmas ornament, and we got to take one home as part of our tour. That was definitely something unique!

What’s interesting about this winery is that their feature wine using New Jersey and California grapes. All and all they had 22 wines ranging from dry to sweet. Typically a wine tasting there is $5 for 6 tastings, but since we were part of a tour we had the option to try 9 that day.

Coda Rossa Winery - Wine

Wines I tried:

– 1526 Blend – Dry Red, blend of Chambourcin, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot
– Super Tuscan – the only CA wine I tried! Sangiovese blended with Cabernet Sauvignon,
– Ameritage – Bordeaux style blend of local Cabernet Franc, Cabernet and Merlot
– Couer D’Est – blend of Chambourcin, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc
– Blackbird – A blend of New Jersey Syrah and Blueberries (one of my favorites)
– Blue Moon Port – Blueberry and Merlot
– Holiday Spice (Seasonal) – Spiced Red wine, tastes fantastic when warm
– Harmony – Sweet Concord Wine
– Raspberry Rose – Perfect for Summer, NJ grapes blended with Raspberries to make a very Sweet wine

I would also like to add that I did not taste two of my favorite wines there, Peacho Grigio and the Sweet Jane, two very sweet wines. The Peacho Grigio is exactly what it sounds like…perfect for Summer. I remember drinking it sitting in the backyard and relaxing. Good times.

Overall, a very pleasant experience at this South Jersey winery. Coda Rossa Winery = great wine, good times. This is a perfect place for a date night, mother’s day etc and they hold lots of events there. I highly recommend checking it out.
