The Rainbow Diner in Brick: Review

On a particularly cloudy and rainy day, I found a rainbow. The Rainbow Diner that is! This Greek diner is located in Brick, right on Route 70.

The diner has been been open for the past 60 years. It was originally called the Laurelton Diner, and for the last 25 years has been known at the Rainbow Diner. They take pride in being an old-fashioned New Jersey family diner that serves a variety of home-style, made from scratch diner classics.

I went their for lunch on a weekday afternoon and it was PACKED. That’s always a good sign! I also loved their Greek inspired art work:

Their menu has typical diner fare at affordable prices. They take pride in their food, including their homemade desserts like their danishes.

I always enjoy going to a diner during lunch time because that usually guarantees a good deal. I was happy to see that at the Rainbow Diner they had lots of lunch specials to choose from. For $11 dollars I got a sandwich, a soup, and a dessert.

I got a chicken noodle soup which was perfect for a rainy day. I really enjoyed that they made their soup with shell pasta.

For my main lunch I got a chicken pesto panini (because I can never turn down pesto), which was a massive sandwich filled with a lot of chicken. It also came with steak fries, which are one of my favorite fries. The meal was HUGE and I could barely eat half (I took the rest home).

Likewise, my husband got this massive chicken parm sandwich which was also on their lunch special menu. So much food!

We took our dessert to go, which were delicious chocolate chip cookies. No photo though…since I ate it without snapping.

Overall, I had a great meal with great service at the Rainbow Diner. It was definitely a bright spot on a cloudy day.
