Superior Diner in Perth Amboy: Review

I am almost done with visiting every diner in Middlesex County! Wow! This time I decided to take a trip to the Superior Diner in Perth Amboy for breakfast, because I heard a lot of good things about their breakfast.

Located on Smith St, the Superior Diner is very close to the Perth Amboy Waterfront as well as the Garden State Parkway. It’s a smaller diner, and the inside could use a little bit of updating…but I dug it. It’s a standard, classic New Jersey diner with mirrors all over the walls, plus a great counter where you can see the kitchen staff making the food.

One of the things that stands out on the menu is how affordable it is. They have so many breakfast options including a chicken and waffles special which I was very tempted on getting. Basically, if you love breakfast, this is the place to be! You can get plenty of omelettes, waffles, french toast, pancakes, or get a combo of all of them.

I got a basic two egg special which came with delicious home fries, a small juice, and REALLY good coffee. A very filling meal!

My husband got something crazy, the Number #12 Breakfast special which was 3 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, 1 sausage, 1 slice to pork roll, home fries, toast, and a small juice, coffee or tea. This entire meal was under $9! Crazy.

The Superior Diner definitely attracts locals from Perth Amboy, as well as those who are traveling down the parkway and are hankering for classic New Jersey Diner food! If you’re looking for a great breakfast, this place should definitely be on your list.
