Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas, specializing in small plates with modern twists to Italian classics and fine wines from around the world, is offering a New Year’s Eve celebration dinner at its restaurant in Clifton, NJ to toast to a new year full of adventure and discovery.

On December 31, the restaurant will feature a carefully crafted “Best of 2015” six-course tasting menu which includes favorite dishes from throughout the year, along with hand-picked wine pairings from Spuntino Wine Bar’s extensive selection of over 150 world class wines. The full menu includes:

Fire Roasted Blue Point Oyster – Butter-braised leeks, caviar and chervil. Paired with a 2013 Stefano Mancinelli Verdicchio – Floral aromas with apricot, peach and almond flavors.

PRIMI
Creamy Polenta – Duck confit, wild mushrooms and hazelnuts. Paired with a 2013 Hook and Ladder Chardonnay – Bouquet of apple, melon, honey suckle, orange blossom and notes of light oak with a light butter finish.

INTERMEZZO
Lemon-Thyme Sorbet

SECONDI
Red Wine Braised Octopus – Fingerling potatoes, celery leaves, cherry tomatoes, ‘nduja aioli. Paired with a 2012 Quinta de la Roso “Dourosa” Douro – Aromas of red fruits, floral elements and a touch of toasted notes.

PIATTI PRINCIPALE
Petit Filet – Baby vegetables, salmoriglio sauce. Paired with a 2013 Schola Sarmenti ‘Roccamora’ Negroamaro – Aromas of black cherry liqueur, black fruit and smoke with a dark spice finish.

DOLCE
Olive Oil Cake – Amarena cherries, vanilla gelato. Paired with a 2014 Ca’ Bianco Moscato – Bouquet of peaches and sage with hints of citrus fruits.
