The Sit N Chat Diner in Franklin: Review
If you’re looking for a diner with a lot of charm, I highly suggest the Sit N Chat Diner in Franklin, NJ. This cozy diner located on Route 23 in Sussex County is a friendly place to grab a bite.
The Sit N Chat diner has a pretty impressive menu with lots to choose from. Something that stood out to me on their menu was “The Breakfast Challenge” which includes four pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 pieces of sausage, home fries, toast, and juice for $14. Eat it all in 30 min and get it for free! They have a similar “Challenge Burger” which is a 2lb burger 6(!) slices of cheese, 4 onion rings, french fries, and a pickle. Eat that in 30 min and get it free…or spend $20.
They had two other belly buster options that also caught by eye like the “Heart Attack” Breakfast sandwich which contained 2 eggs, 3 slices of ham, 3 slices of bacon, sausage, and cheese on a hard roll. The “Fat Butch” is their fat sandwich which has steak, chicken cutlet, french fries and mozzarella cheese on a roll. Dayum…
Now worries…they have plenty of plenty of healthy options as well! They also offered gluten free breakfast menus which is something you don’t see typically on a diner menu.
The diner is known for their pancakes, and they have an impressive list. The list includes Banana Split, Pina Colada, “Death by Chocolate”, Oreo, Meat Lovers, and my personal favorite the “Chitt Chatt Tower Pancakes” (3 pancakes, layered with cheesecake, and strawberries).
My husband decided to get a combo meal which included two regular pancakes, and I was surprised how big they were! Not only were they big and fluffy, but they were delicious as well. I highly recommend them.
Since I went in the beginning of April aka “National Grilled Cheese Month”, I decided to get a grilled cheese. I personally feel a grilled cheese is better at a diner than anywhere else.
It was a standard grilled cheese which was very good but not really unique, however their sweet potato fries are AMAZING.
In addition to their food, I also really enjoyed the cute signs that appeared all over the diner. Signs included “Keep Calm, we Have WiFi” (free WiFi is a plus too!), and their bathroom directional signs “Men to the Left Because Women Are Always Right”.
They also have outdoor seating, and look what I also found outside:
So cool! Brought back some childhood memories…
Between the friendly service, their affordable prices, and the great food I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the Sit N Chat Diner. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area!
