Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holiday held during the Saturday after US Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. This year the event falls on November 28th, and many towns in New Jersey filled with mom and pop shops are excited to welcome you to their stores for a special day of discounts.

1. Small Business Weekend in Downtown Haddonfield
Small Business Weekend is dedicated to supporting small businesses during one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. Haddonfield, NJ invites everyone to ‘shop small’ at their favorite Haddonfield store or restaurant. Merchants will be going all out to make this shopping experience extra special with incentives, trunk shows and other promotions.

9. SIC Shop Small Weekend
Celebrate Sea Isle’s unique Small Businesses and get some holiday shopping done during SIC Shop Small Weekend. Throughout town, businesses will offer deals, discounts and hospitalities as you stroll from store to store to kick off the holiday season! Customers who spend $20 or more at participating businesses throughout the weekend will be entered to win a $250 Sea Isle City Gift Certificate from the Chamber of Commerce, good at any of the participating businesses listed on the back of the card. The winner will be announced on Monday, Nov. 30.

10. Bloomfield Center Holiday Hunt
The Bloomfield Center Holiday Hunt will start at 2PM on Saturday, November 28th, which also happens to be “Small Business Saturday,” the shop local” initiative which encourages people to support small businesses in their communities during the holidays.

The day will kick-off with holiday music, hot cocoa and pastries from Brandon’s Coffee, and a photo-worthy ‘Bloomfield NJ’ ice sculpture which will be on display at the Six Points Plaza (intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and Glenwood Avenue). Upon arrival at the Plaza, attendees will receive a Bloomfield Center Map showing locations of the downtown’s various Holiday Hunt Destinations.

Participating businesses, all of whom are located within short walking distance of the Six Points Plaza, offer a selection of products ranging from bowties to bike accessories, wine baskets to boots, hair accessories to gift cards for fun experiences or pampering sessions – all of which make for great gifts for the holidays.

11. Small Business Saturday-Win BID BUCKS in Hackettstown
Some of their businesses offer online shopping as well as curbside pick-up for your convenience! The town will continue to support Hackettstown businesses through the holiday season, including Friday, December 4th for Hometown Holiday. Although Hometown Holiday will not be quite the same as past years, they encourage you to stroll the streets of Hackettstown,take in the lights and decorations, while visiting the businesses.

To encourage our shoppers to SHOP SMALL during the holiday season, the Hackettstown BID will have a drawing. Every time you SHOP SMALL, please submit your receipt to the BID office via email, director@hackettstownbid.com. For each receipt you submit showing that you shopped at a BID business, your name will be entered into our drawing for multiple chances to win $25 BID BUCKS, which can be used at any BID business in Hackettstown.
